That background is coming around nicely. Well done. Make sure you smooth out the blue background, though, so it doesn't look so much like you were filling it in with colored pencil. Either your finger or a blending stump might help with that, if you don't do that already. The scanner will eat up some of detail in the color penciling you might do, but that's always the case.
I see you touched up the hair. Looks better now.

Thanks. I was hoping you would notice. I was thinking of smoothingout the colored pencil. It will make the sky look much better. ^_^. My scanner is notorious for eating detail, but as long as the good stuff stays.

Even if the scanner does capture the detail, resizing the image so it isn't so large or saving it in jpeg usually takes the detail right back out. One option would be to use a program like adobe photoshop to smooth out the background a bit if the scanner continues to make the penciling look grainy.
As far as the hair, see how just minor touch-ups can make a noticeable difference?
This is coming along very well. I'm glad you've been posting this as you progress with it, so that I can try to offer you useful feedback along the way. It's looking great!

It's definitely a smart idea that few artists seem to take advantage of. An artist isn't going to go back and fix a piece they've finished, so the most valuable time to recieve feedback is while you are working on it. Right now this is coming out very well, so you've got me watching it progress.
