Description
Another sketchbook/journal with a customized cover, this time I wanted to evoke a sense that the book was covered in the skin of dragon or other large reptile, while also having an abstract quality of a forest - something of the woods, a streambed, pebbles...The scales are made of polymer clay and handpainted by me with acrylics, they have a lovely deep tone of green and brown and hints of copper, which I used to sort of "antique" the scales. It is been sealed with repeated layers of clear acrylic spray to make the scales gleam (hence my difficulty photographing it!) and to protect them, encourage people to touch the scales
The sketchbook itself is 9" x 11" (I think) with 200 blank, unused pages. It is a hardcover sketchbook, I believe it is a Canson, nice quality paper
SOLD
I am also up for custom cover commissions

Spectacular dragon skin. How do you attach the scales to the book?
