The next morning, I decided to get up earlier than I usually did. Ludwig was surprised to find me already dressed and ready to go in the kitchen before he was even dressed, but he didn't question it one bit. In fact, he gave an approving nod and left the kitchen to get himself dressed for work. I waited almost patiently for him, but I didn't have enough of it to wait for him to make breakfast, so I just made him toast and said "bon appetite!" as I dragged him to the car. There was no way I was going to be late in meeting my angel.

When we got there, I shot right out of the car, lit a cigarette, and stormed inside the building, Ludwig looking after me with wide eyes as he tried to get his things together. Walking past the receptionist desk, I headed towards the elevator and went up to my office. Once there, I greeted and fed Gilbird, who chirped happily at seeing me, and sat down at my desk to begin with the paperwork. But on the inside, I was feeling a little disappointed. I had expected to see (Y/n) with a smile on her face the moment I walked in, but instead I'm only greeted by my pet bird. Of course, it's not like that's a bad thing, I adored Gilbird, but I loved my angel even more.

Hearing a knock at the door, I put down my pen and looked up, eyes narrowed as if I were suspicious, though I really felt calm.

"Come in." With a click from the door knob turning, (Y/n) stepped into the room with a smile. I straightened up at the sight of her and smiled to her in return. "Guten morgen, fraulein~ It's nice to see you again."

"Good morning, Gilbert. It's a pleasure to see you too. I just came in to ask where I should start working..."

"You vill be vorking right outside my office for zhe remainder of your vork here. You vill basically do zhe typical secretarial zhings, vhich include taking some calls, setting up appointments or a schedule for me, but talk to me first before setting zhem up so zhat I may eizher agree or disagree on vhether or not I should go to zhem, und lastly you are to file und help out vith some of zhe papervork here. My little bruder vas zhe last one to do zhis sort of thing, but I suppose he grew tired of it und decided zhat I should get a secretary to do it instead. But other zhan all of zhat, it should be smooth sailing, liebling~!" she sent me a blank stare and I couldn't help but laugh. Yeah, even I would admit that all that sounded difficult, especially the paperwork part. And it doesn't really help that I have said pile of paperwork stacked right in one corner of the room, does it?

When I heard another knock at the door, (Y/n) turned around and answered to whoever knocked. Some mumbling was heard and after a moment, she opened the door wide to let in my brother and two large men who looked ready to get down to business. And believe me when I say that just thinking that sentence didn't help with the uneasiness of the moment.

"Bruder, zhese men are here to deliver zhe desk you ordered for your secretary."

"Oh! Vell, just put it out near my door, gentleman. We all need to get to vork right avay, now hurry, hurry~!" Getting up from my highly expensive, black leather chair, I followed after the other two large men who nodded in affirmative as they went to get the desk. As we all headed towards the elevator, I failed to notice that it was just me and the two meat heads there. So then...where was my angel?

(Your P.O.V)

Watching after my boss, I chuckled lightly at that excited energy of his as he followed after the delivery men. He probably wanted to see if it was the right kind of desk or to make sure that it wasn't damaged. A part of myself felt as if he were spoiling me, but I shook the very thought away. I was the first secretary he's ever had, so it was only necessary that I had someplace to work.

"You know, zhis is probably zhe first time I've ever seen him act like zhis..." Flinching at the sudden sound of his brother's voice beside me, I turned to look up at the man in question.

"What do you mean?" Not having expected me to respond, Ludwig looks down and gives an awkward smile as he rubs the back of his neck.

"S-sorry, I vas actually talking to myself just zhen. But since you're curious, I'll answer your question. Gilbert's usually all about himself. Vhen it comes to friends or family, he'll always do zhis thing vhere he'll be so narcissistic zhat it's almost sickening, but since I'm his bruder und know him best, I know he has a responsible und compassionate side. He just has trouble showing it...until today, zhat is. I mean, he actually looked into zhis sort of zhing ahead of time vhen I'm usually zhe one who has to do everyzhing for him. Und it all started vhen you came along, Miss ________." With his blue eyes now trained onto me, I flushed in embarrassment and looked down at my feet. Did he have to sound so serious when saying that?

"Now, I may not know vhat it vas you did to make him like zhis, but I'm hoping it'll continue for zhe better. Since I have mein own responsibilities to deal vith, I vant you to keep him on a tight leash, since he likes to shirk out of his duties when zhe vork load becomes a little too much for him. Do you zhink you can do zhat for me?" he asks with a bit of a pleading look. "Please, I know zhis may sound desperate or even pathetic in a vay, but I just...I don't vant anyzhing to happen to zhis company. Zhis is zhe only zhing me und Gilbert have zhat vas our Großvater's und if it were to go under...vell, ve'd probably lose zhe manor und ve'll be left vithout his memory."

"Of course, I could be exaggerating vhen I say zhis, since it's difficult to ever forget someone you cherish most, but it's all ve have left of zhe man. So please...vill you vatch over my bruder, make sure he gets things done, and make sure he's at least happy, because I can under stand if he might get stressed out with some of zhe vork here. I zhink zhat's vhat got him into smoking in zhe first place."

After it seemed as if he was done speaking, I smiled politely at him and gave him a nod. "Of course, Mister Ludwig. I'll make sure to take care of Gilbert while I'm his secretary. And I promise you, if I find out a way to make him less stressed with all this paper work, then perhaps I can get him to quit smoking also." This seemed to get a small laugh out of the guy as sent me a smirk.

"Good luck. I've been trying to get zhat stubborn man to quit for almost four months now. Und trust me vhen I say zhat just hiding zhe packets of cigs von't stop him. He alvays finds a way to get at least one of those zhings in his grasp, believe me." At this, we both laughed softly at the imaginings of Gilbert somehow magically getting a cigarette, when the delivery men returned with the desk. We instantly went back into business mode and nodded to each other over the conversation as they placed the desk in front of Gilbert's office. But while I was watching them do this, I couldn't help but shiver in unease. It felt as if someone was glaring towards my direction. But were they really glaring at me? Or were they glaring at the blonde haired man still standing by my side? If only I had looked towards the end of the hall to figure out the answer.

(Gilbert P.O.V)

Returning to the sight of my little brother and my angel laughing together as if they were the best of friends was not what I had intended. Of course, I should have known this would happen if I left her alone like this. She really did seem like the curious type, that one. Of course, her curious nature just might end up getting her hurt in the end. That...or someone else. Walking over to them both, I kept my arms behind my back as if I were a some gentleman, when really I just kept them there to hide my quivering fists.

"Ah, I see you two have been here zhis entire time~ Vhat vere you two doing? Vere you talking about me und mein awesomeness behind my back? Because I vill admit, I am pretty awesome~!" saying this as I gave signature laugh, Ludwig rolled his eyes while my angel giggled lightly. Her laugh seemed to do the trick in dispelling my jealous rage. Of course, even I knew that it would only last for merely a second someone spoke; that someone being my "dear" little brother.

"Actually, ve vere talking about how you should be vorking right now. Und speaking of vork, I should probably get back to my office. I'll see you after hours, bruder." And just as he was about to leave, he looked back over to ________, smiled at her and sent her another nod until he walked towards the elevator. I gave him a glare for that. He had no right to get so close to her. Only "I" was aloud that privalege, damn it!

"Uh...Gilbert? Are you okay?" Shooting my gaze back to my secretary, I noticed the concerned look on her face and gave her a gentle smile. She must have seen the look and probably became worried for me. How sweet of her~

"Ja, I'm okay, liebling. Anyvays, for once my bruder's right about somezhing. After ve get your computer und phone hooked up, I'll be heading back to my office to get rid of zhat damned pile I've been trying to push aside. It's just been sitting zhere like a creepy ghost who vishes to haunt me, und I vant none of zhat!"

"O-oh, well okay. But you don't have to help, really. I can get things started out here. You just go and get a head start on your work." I shook my head at her.

"Nein, I insist. Zhe more help zhe better." And as I rolled up my sleeves, proving to her that I wasn't going to take no for an answer, she sighed, shook her head, and went to retrieve the phone while I began to take care of the computer. Well, hopefully we continue to have moments alone like this. Because I would really prefer it that way than have my brother with her again. But as I thought about that incident, I couldn't help but hum to myself in thought. My little brother, Ludwig...Hmm, someone was going to have to keep an eye on him. Make sure he knew his place...you know what I mean~?
