Thorn's Background Story/Summary

Thorn was your regular Simisage, friendly and outgoing, until an unfortunate encounter with a Seviper changed all that. Thorn unwittingly wondered into a Seviper's territory while searching for berries. Most Sevipers are aggressive by nature and this one was no different. The Seviper attacked Thorn without warning. Though usually not a fighter Thorn fought hard to defend himself. However the Seviper was too quick for Thorn and was able to sink its poisonous venom into Thorn's arm, injecting a huge dose of its poison. Satisfied at being able to deliver a fatal bite, the Seviper released his fangs from his adversary and slithered away leaving Thorn to die a slow and excruciating death (or so he thought.)

Any Pokemon injected with that much amount of poison as Thorn had been injected, would surely not survive. However, thanks to a mysterious shadow that came to his aid after he had been bitten, Thorn's body managed to create an anti-venom in time.

In the end however, Thorn's body doesn't fully rid itself of the venom in the blood stream but rather functions with it. Thorn's body has adapted in such a way, so that now he has become partially poison type himself. Because of this, Thorn's blood is now poisonous as well. To prevent his entire circulatory system from being overrun with poison, a small sample is channeled into his thorn every now and then - creating the purple poison tipped thorn. Since the poison is mixed with blood, it creates a different type of poison from regular poison-type Pokemon thus, an antidote for Thorn's poison is hard to create.

This once friendly Simisage now has to distance himself from other Pokemon due to the dangers of his own poison. With so many thorns all over his body, bumping into Thorn could puncture or break the skin of others allowing poison to seep in.
