Description So I made a basic chart of signs that Asim will use when communicating. Most signs are based off of rl ASL sign language!

Generally in rp, these signs will be described as
he signed '----', etc. Generally facial expressions will be included.

Most of the signs will be asked in question or in command.
For example, when he signs 'cough, sore throat, pain' it is usually in question. Other times in diagnosis. This can be determined by facial expression.

In command, for signs like 'water, that way, go/come, make, etc.'
He's often asking the subject to go get him something, or do something.
Ex. "Go get water", "Make '----'"

If there are any questions, please ask!
I will probably make another few charts that expand on sentences/thoughts.

I absolutely love this, mainly because I grew up in deaf culture. My parents are both deaf, and I'm fluent in ASL, and just..
I AM VERY HAPPY THIS MAKES ME HAPPY THAT YOU ACTUALLY USED SIGNS FROM ASL...

Honestly I so look forward to seeing more of Asim in the future!

ahhhh thank you so much ;;
I've interacted with people who are deaf and I have learned a little bit of ASL (however I am nowhere near fluent, I had to research almost all of it)
I really just wanted to use some real life references bc 1.) im not near as creative to create an entire sign language for him 2.) i wanted to incorporate something that some may recognize ^^

Thank you again!!! It means a lot ;v;

Omg I can recognize a few of these signs from ASL! You really DID do a ton of research on this, eh?
Plus it's nice how he is able to use one claw with his signs, but not two or three or as dextrously as humans can do.
Also, do you think someone taught him, like an elder? I'd imagine that older cats are taught a bit if they start going deaf.

Ahh thanks! I looked up a lot of charts for different grouping/kinds of ASL and went from there ^^
and yeah, for some signs the challenge arose that you had to use a few of your fingers to specify, so for some i put the claws in use instead, however since i knew that like cats can't like 'point' with one toe, the claw takes that place.

And I think that he probably came up with the signals amongst him and his family. Without the one main form of communication, speech, they knew they'd have to develop a way for him to reply, because when he was younger just nodding yes or no wouldn't work for everything. The entire set of signs i have here probably developed as he went through his training, and as he grew up and knew that he'd have to elaborate on some functions/responses.

Overall I'm really excited to start rping this bab, as he'd be my first mute character ^^
