My first shiny was when I was 6 and playing pokemon when I encountered a random wild shiny vulpix which ironically was my favorite pokemon at the time. But it roared and I was confused and even searched in the grass for it.
I'm currently Masuda Methoding for one with no luck so far.. 
Beautiful Vulpix! I have tons of trouble drawing the tails and hair.

I've been trying the Masuda method to get a shiny charmander with no luck. It seems like it's taking forever, and it's way longer than it takes me to chain anything. I wish you could do something easier for a shiny starter ;-;

Yeah, i'm not all that sure if the Masuda Method is quite all that reliable anymore, considering that natures don't get passed on, so it makes it even harder to get a deacent shiny pokemon, if you get a shiny at all

Shiny Vulpix is really adorable, I wish all shinies were cool, but some of them are just.... weird o_o

Yeah, it's really lame that some shinies are such cop-outs. Like, if you look at shiny leafeon or shiny bidoof or shiny manaphy or shiny piplup or something, you'd have to see the little red star to know they were shiny because they look almost exactly the same as regular :T
I mean, if you're gonna make something shiny, go all out Pokemon, c'mon. Like vulpix and ninetales and vaporeon and dratini and sneasel, etc.

Like the Shiny Garchomp I got on GTS one day, I didn't know it was shiny, the difference is SO SMALL!!! It must be the hardest shiny to identify only by looking o_o

Oh god, garchomp is one of the worst shinies, because it's VERY slightly darker. Why even bother at that point? That's why I only chain stuff that looks different than normal colors.

Completely agreed. It's my quest in pokemon, to get as many different shinies as I can. I have 167 (but only 61 different species).
