I can't believe I'm just finding all of your LoL concept art today.
There are a lot of other concept artists that do 'shiny things', if that makes sense, but honestly your stuff is 100% what I'd always imagined concept art for video games to be like. I hope that one day I can make designs as awesome as yours. I think it's incredibly cool that you design things as they're meant to be seen in game, and IMO it really shows in the final product.

Thanks so much! I would like to do more 'pretty' art when I get better, but yes this is the reality of production art and particularly at Riot we have a focus on being 'Game Developers first, Artists second' so the art needs to support the product in the most efficient way possible. Over time we realised designing in-game made more sense because this is how the final product will look; it doesn't matter how glamorous the 3/4 full-body illustration is (although it helps to inform splash so we do a bit of that too along with orthographics).
If you want to be recognised as a potential hire for a games studio, you need to show them that you are capable of not only illustrations but more importantly the kind of production work you'll actually be doing - so finding out what that is is the first step to targeting a portfolio at a certain company/project.
I think if you keep working on it you'll be way better than me, and I'm excited to see what you do!
