About the concept... well, I'll just quote from the EC Forums:

"About my hunter... when I thought about the "supreme hunter" I suddenly had to think of the Grim Reaper; after all, once he's set his eyes upon his prey, he won't fail in his hunt. But well, since I didn't really want to simply paint some hooded guy with a scythe, I instead invented a twisted abomination, which still possesses certain human features yet, at the same time, has become a terrible horror.
Since it is more or less like a God of Death, it will command a pack of nightmarish undead which just kind of burst out of the ground to tackle their target...or something like that"
