omg, so much yes. I can imagine when Shay put his riffle in Cudgelβs hand at the first time when he is only a young boy.
The proud twinkle in his eyes as his sets down the first stepping stone what leads Cudgel to walk on the templar path to follow the Cormac way. 
and yes the book was very good and Cudgel is a sweet Cormac as his g.daddy. Hope he is gonna be in the next book too. I know I want too much but I just want to know how their story goes.
Wonder if we gonna read about Shayβs son. He is nowhere unless I miss sometging. I fear the worst

I finished reading the book just now! Yes this book is great and what Cudgel did was so touching. I felt sad when Eliza blamed him for her dad's death. And I want to know more about his life after the riot. We all want to know as much as possible lol
I guess why Cudgel's father wasn't mentioned much is that he was less famous than Shay so the writer skipped that part. Cudgel said he was trained by his grandfather and father, so I guess his father continued training him after Shay passed away.
