Awww. He's a beautiful mouse.
I haven't been around much as we've had visitors from the UK. What happened to your knee Suzanne? Pleased to hear that it's on the mend. Life is so difficult on crutches !

thanks Ann, yes he was a sweet little fellow knited him a blue bib and brace shorts too and his new owner was born at the begining of the week
I fell off my bike Ann and crashed really hard onto my right knee ( silly Me) luckily nothing was broken. I should have gone to Ireland with grirlfriend in the middle of september but she took ill too so we had to cancel.
Still having treatement for my knee now, the accident made the arthritis in the joint flare up so very painful

OH NO!!!!! How painful that must have been for you and how disappointing about your trip . Maybe you just weren't meant to go for a reason!
Sad to hear of your arthritis too.
I think I have a bit of that in my right index finger. It's totally crooked and sometimes very painful. I put it down to the timer runs in the old Tomb Raider games

I have researched the Internet and have found a diet that´s supposed to help, it a bit radical NO Coffee, No Sweets and sugar, No meat, No white bread, No margerine. I have stopped drinking coffee completley reduced meat intake and only eat whole meal bread anyway it´s supposed to alter the PH level in the body from acid to basis this is what is said to cause inflamation in the joints. I´ll let you know it it helps any

Yes please.
Coffee wouldn't bother me that much as I only have one in the mornings, don't like sweets or sugar, don't eat white bread or margarine, I do eat meat but would love to be a vegetarian. Hubby doesn't eat veggies though, other than potatoes and corn and raw tomatoes, so I'd be cooking two meals - are well

I think also the climate has a lot to do also with joint problems the cold wet winter time and even the summer can be some times cold and wet, there are no guarantee´s in the northern hemisphere.
You´re lucky to have such a great climate.
I am missing my coffee at the moment not drank any for three days but I am eating plenty of fruit and drinking fruit juices and tees I am determined to stick to it. I´d loved to lose a bit of weight too that would help my knees. I am using my home trainer everyday too to try and get better movement in my knees.
I think meat is important in any ones diet it carries vital elements that the body can´t get anywhere else but a couple of days a week meat free would do us all good.
My son didn´t eat vegetables either when he was at home, it was a constant battle but now he´s living alone and his girlfriend is vegetarian, he eats better than me now is always cooking himself something out of the ordinary.
Have a lovely Sunday

Yes Suzanne, I do believe it's got a lot to do with climate. David used to get bronchitus every winter and hasn't had it since we've been here.
I have always been 5'2" - apparently 5'3" now according to the doctor , I thought you were supposed to shrink with age
. Anyway, I mentioned to him that I wasn't happy with my weight of 70kgms I was always very slim but the weight has slowly crept on, especially since I joined DA
. Anyway, I have used weightwatchers which I found very good, but the Dr referred me to a book by Michael Mosely caled the 8-Week Blood Sugar Diet. It is really interesting. There's a lot about type 2 diabetes which I don't have, but he said it was a good way to lose weight fast. I decided that I wouldn't be very good at it, but have used some ideas and recipes, combined with WW points & recipes. I also got a Fitbit for my birthday. I was horrified at how few steps I had been taking each day! I have lost 7kgms since April. I realise that that's slow, but I haven't starved and am eating really tasty food.
I had a lovely Sunday thanks. Now it's Monday morning & just waking up with my only coffee of the day. You're very good giving it up

That´s really good Ann better to lose the weight slowly then you avoid the yoyo effect. I can´t lose weight to save my life I have tried quite a few times . I am `5'6" and weigh 75kg I'd love to lose about 10 Kg that´s only going to happen in my dreams I think ^^ Have a good week

Thanks Cher "Blue Mouse" is now the proud owner of blue bib and brace shorts, (hand knitted of course.)
The knee is on the mend. I can put my weight on it without crutches now so just making sure it heals well and resting up as often as I can.

Yes it is far too hot I know but he´s now the proud owner of a bib and brace blue overall.( all knitted of course cos I have nothing else to do)
Knee is healing, it´s a slow process but I can at least put my weight on it now and I am getting a dab hand with my crutches. Bruises are turning yellow and the swelling less and less each day.

You still have a while till your holiday so you will be well mobile by then. (going away similar time to me). The capabilities of our bodies to heal are amazing - good that you can put weight on the leg already! It all sounds well on its way. When you think that fractures are given 4-6 weeks to heal anything else must heal much quicker unless there is some sort of complication. Went to physio today and doctor said I'd done pretty good with exercises - I think he was surprised at range of movement I've got, so its back to work 31st Aug.
I can usually take heat but something has happened to me and I dont seem so enduring - wont complain though we waited long enough for this summer!

Yes It´s well on it´s way to healing. Thank goodness I didn´t break anything
Glad to hear you are doing so well with your arm, yes as you say, it sure is wonderful how the body is capable of healing its self.
I don´t like the heat much either I have an air conditioner in the living room, the air is cooled over cold water and the hot air pumped out of the living room through a vent in the wall but I really need it cos my flat is built into the roof and the sun shines all day on the veranda which gets really hot (40°C evenings at 8 p.m) it can become really unbearable sometimes. I like to see the sun shine though I really do

I had the impression you lived in a house! I too live in a flat - a ground floor one. When I was married we lived mostly in a very small flat with a balcony but the gardens were kind of open there, so I tended to sit out on the balcony, which I liked. I always had a thing about living up above ground floor and loved it - however I much enjoy my ground floor flat now and it would be difficult with four cats if we were higher. Heat rises of course, so at least you must be glad of that in the winter!

It´s my mother in laws house and we, Paul and I, built up on top of it. It has a lot´s of land around it that my father in law used to grow vegetables on but since his death suddenly in 2011, 2 years before Pauls, we´ve turned into lawns, 4 of them to mow every 1-2 weeks depending how much rain we get. My mum in law still grows on a small plot quite a few of her own vegetables Potatoes tomatoes leeks and strawberries. We have over 90 m² living space 2 1/2 bedrooms it´s a big place, too big just for one person.

Nice to have space though - in the UK especially here in the suburbs property is so dear even for small places. My own flat is reasonable but I got it at the right time. How lovely to have lots of land even though you have to mow!

Here is the view from my veranda over the village with the church The white corragated bit in the corner is our garage plus tool shed and the garden goes all the way to the trees at the back. This is what my husbands dream as a child was about flying over the villiage.

Mostly photos can conjure up a mood and often there is a word for that mood but this one I cannot define. It is a lovely view of the church and village and naturally it evokes calm but there is something more. I did wonder that when you first saw that view if you felt it was just so right or even if it looked familiar? Is this a church you attend? There is a pull towards it and I wondered how old it was?
Interestingly about the dream - I always dream even now about flying over the east end of London and have had that dream for ages - don't laugh but often I am superman - last time I was supergirl, and it is always the east end although I live in North London. It is usually that I get lost and then I remember that I can fly and when I rise above the buildings I can then recognise certain landmarks and get home. Thanks so much for sharing this photo.

Well it´s a Catholic Church. I attend it but only on special occasions. I am Anglican religion but the ceremonies are very similar. We live on a hill so the villiage is below us and also the cemetery is next to us to stretched over four plots going down the hill. (I haven´t got to go very far to visit Paul.) A fortune teller did tell me once years ago she could see a tall building with many little lights around it. This is the cemetery especially on Holy Saints Day (my sons Birthday) everyone puts extra candles on the graves and it really is a wonderful sight to see.
I am glad you have this dream it must be very envigorating and make you feel good. I am getting lucky lately and have also remembered one or two dreams and mostly Paul is in them which pleases me even more

Yes its a good dream in that it is a relief to remember I can fly and will be able to get home, otherwise I would be lost. I guess it is about overcoming problems. Pleased you are getting the nice dreams.
