Description

Time: 9 mins.

When Obadiah Stane bought Stark International and began manufacturing weapons, Stark gave up his armour and became a homeless bum while Stane created the Iron Monger armour to start taking over the world!

Plus he was played by the awesome Jeff Bridges in the first Iron Man film.

Iron Monger is TM Marvel Comics.

Awesome.
Shame he was short lived in the comics(I read he killed himself with his armors plasmer so Iron man won't capture him right?)

That's right. But his son is still around and is still a very big threat to Iron Man.

So is he the new Iron Monger?

No. But he has a super enhanced body so he doesn't really need a suit. Plus his girlfriend is Sasha Hammer, the granddaughter of Iron Man's old enemy, Justin Hammer.

Love Iron Man! And yes, Jeff Bridges as Iron Monger was great! I don't know where to begin to read Iron Man. There are so many stories! Any suggestions, Josh?

Stark a homeless bum? How? He has all the money on Earth, he could just get a small apartment... Then again, it depends on the story, universe, and year that the story was written.

Where to start with Iron Man? Well to be honest Iron Man's two most "classic" stories (Demon in a Bottle and Armour Wars) as good as they are, do feel quite dated now.

The modern Iron Man comic (The Invincible Iron Man) is really the best place to start. It's been running since 2008 and is written by Matt Fraction who has really made the character interesting again and reintroduced a lot of old concepts and characters in a modern way.

Marvel is currently griped in the Fear Itself crossover and Iron Man is tied into that as well so for now I'd pick up Fraction's Iron Man in TPB just to see what you think.

Wow. I do go on a bit don't I?

You've boiled Iron Monger down to his primal core!
