This is my entry for 's summer contest. The theme was a showdown between two robots, so naturally I brought in a SHOWDOWN X2 COMBO. Also, everyone's nine years old. Anyways, to the description:
Background
It's the summer of 2342, in a small suburb outside Manchester. The last summer these robots will have at home. School begins in a month's time, and after that, employment and adult life. Robot School is quite different to the school we know. Schools are gargantuan complexes, containing shops, parks, arcades, classrooms, restaurants, and pretty much everything else you could want. School for them is simple. No tests. No compulsory lessons. No snooty headmasters. It's a three year marathon. The national curriculum is downloaded wirelessly into them, which takes roughly the three years of school time. Whilst the download occurs, robots are free to do as they please, as long as they don't leave the building. It's here that robots will grow as individuals, make new friends, and become ready to work and have a function in society. Back in Manchester, these robots are just trying to have the time of their lives. Jessica, also known as noble knight Fancypants Gummyguts, is battling the bandit leader Lord Scratchton. The entire kingdom of RoboTopia depends on her victory over the forces of evil. Jimmy, who doubles as Fancypants's noble steed, DaisyButt. Needless to say, he had very little input in his naming. He's too busy facing Jonah at Duel BattleLords Series 3. And losing badly. The flora kingdom of the Misty Woods is being overrun by the FireWater alliance. Burning Paladin has been summoned into battle, and is rapidly defeating Jimmy's Flower Mercenaries and Tree Birds. Whole (imaginary) empires are at stake, the (imaginary) lives of thousands lie in the balance. Who will win?
Character Bios:
Jessica Lanley (Age 9) as Fancypants Gummyguts
Born in Manchester in 2333, Jessica's parents were both high-ranking ArmyBots, and as such, has always had a taste for adventure. Tragically, when she was two, her parents lost their lives in an IED explosion in Canada. She was placed into the care of her cousin's family, the Coopers, who did their best to raise her despite their ConstructoBot duties, but it was their son, Jimmy, who spent his life caring for her, playing with her, and on occasion, being bullied by her. Throughout her childhood years, she has always been a bit of a tomboy, enjoying fighting, swordplay, and generally breaking things. It was during one of her adventures in which they discovered Pinkington, who was lying deactivated under the playground sandpit. During her school years, her and Jimmy drifted apart somewhat. Jessica found new friends, eventually becoming less of an adventurer, becoming a fairly typical teenage girl. Her interests shifted from swordfights and treasure hunts to Roller Blading and Parties. Of course, she still kept in touch with Jimmy, who became something of an agony aunt for her, attempting to deal with her 'boy problems', and doing her homework for her. After school, she became a delivery girl for Apple in America, before moving back to the UK, becoming a teacher, and rendezvousing with Jimmy again.

Jimmy Cooper (Age 10) as Daisybutt The Pony
A considerably-built descendent of a line of ConstructoBots, Jimmy was never going to be small. After his family adopted Jessica, he spent all of his time with her, taking it upon himself to raise her. Due to the lifestyle of ConstructoBots, Jimmy essentially became Jessica's only parent. Throughout this period, he taught her most of what she knows about the world, which is to say, not an awful lot. Instead of standard parenting, she learned the art of tormenting her step-brother, avoiding homework, and generally not doing much. But whilst Jessica enjoyed fighting, adventures, and practical jokes, Jimmy preferred quieter pastimes, such as video games (he still holds the Rock-Em-Sock-Em record for the town), card games, and reading comic books. Quite the contrast. After enrolling in secondary school, Jimmy became friendly with a group of 'bots that would be known as nerds by today's standards. They would write comics, play computer games, make computer games, alongside building his very own robot companion (who escaped at a later date to become a raging alcoholic). But whilst his and Jessica's interests drifted apart, his interests in Jessica had increased significantly. As it turned out, his years of looking after Jessica had led to him falling in love with her. But at this point, Jessica was barely recognizable from her old self. She spent her time at parties, dating the guys who bullied Jimmy and his friends, and rollerskating at the park. Choosing to stay at school for an extended course in Inscriptogramming and Nanobot maintenance, he parted ways with Jessica at the end of 2345. After graduating, he went on to work at UKbotics in Cambridge, England. After six years of working in London, he moved back home to Manchester to set up his own Inscriptogramming business, where he met Jessica again, fresh from America, where they became best friends again.

Percival Pinkington (Age ~400) as Lord Scratchton
The story of Percival Pinkington is an interesting one indeed. Built in the final days of Apple Killbotics, just days before their destruction in the fourth American Civil War. After decades of wandering through rubble, he finally found a way out into the deserts of Area 51, and into the outside world. Build out of war, Pinkington's abilities are mostly unknown. He possesses amazing speed balance, and finesse, along with a form of Telekinesis, and a seamless construction concealing a huge manner of technology unseen by anyone. He's also virtually indestructible. He moved to England about twenty years ago after being forcefully ejected from the united states for 'being some-kind-of-crazy-half-ninja-or-something'. He also doesn't speak. He can't. Being built for war, they deemed a voice processor unnecessary, so the only way he can speak is through a typewriter built into his back plate, the only removable section of him. It's due to this that nobody will employ him. Hence, he spends his life exploring, and finding new friends. Jessica found him when she was battling the Evil Frog King Ribbitt over a lake, where Pinkington was analyzing the effects of feeding fish paper for their entire lives. It is believed one still resides in his head. He went to school alongside Jessica, Jimmy and Jonah, despite having attended four times already. Rather than spending time with Jimmy or Jessica, he spent his time alongside the school Gambling League. Due to his mild omnipotence and lack of a voice, it turned out he was rather good at it. He ended his school career the 421st richest robot in the world. After being banished from Vegas two years later, he went on a world tour of the gambling capitals, which finished in Shanghai. Two hundred robots were sent to 'apprehend' him as he was leaving. Needless to say, the Chinese authorities were two hundred robots short afterwards. He then returned to Manchester, a fugitive from countless governments, where a heartfelt reunion with Jimmy and Jessica took place. He was also possibly responsible for the pair of cinema tickets that miraculously arrived in the post. And maybe that time the house set on fire, and Jimmy was forced to rescue Jessica from the blaze. Or that time when he had to return home 'terminally ill' from a holiday in Majorca.

Jonah Hammond (age 10) as Jonah Hammond
Born into a family of wealthy BankBots, Jonah has always had everything he wanted. He received a MechaCorn for his fifth birthday. A Hoverboard the next. He met Jessica at a Halloween party when he was four, and has spent his time with them since. Due to the position of his parents in the community, the four 'bots had a near-permanent exclusion from the rules of the town, granting them access to anywhere they please. He also gives the BEST birthday presents ever. He gave Pinkington his trademark bowtie, Jessica her cape and a puppy, and Jimmy received four hundred shares in Duel BattleLords. And a parrot. At school, he kept in touch with Jimmy, whilst he set about his own ambitions. Within two weeks, he was already chair of the Backgammon club, the Photography club, and was Head Reporter for the school newspaper. Possessing a firm interest in politics, he created the school's first government, with a working democracy, and became President in his final year there. Needless to say, the school's headmaster wasn't impressed, but by this point, Jonah had footholds in every club, society, and council. If he were to leave, the school would (literally) fall apart. Regardless, this started an endless campaign of rivalry between the headmaster and Jonah, which culminated in the legendary Battle Of The Battle Of The Bands. Nobody knows the exact number of casualties, but it is estimated to have permanently lowered the school's place on the leaderboards forever. After his stay at school, he left to complete Teacher Training, before returning as deputy head, much to the headmaster's disapproval on the matter. Together they brought the school into a new and prosperous age, but not without a huge amount of tension, anger, and violence. In 2351, after an all-out turf war, the local authorities intervened, and fired both of them. They remain firm friends to this day. Afterwards, he began work for the local council, as his quest for authority continued. And during his years as head of Automaton Relations, he performed the marriage of Jimmy Cooper and Jessica Lanley.
