Description
This is an attempt in PMG at the Russian Kirov class battlecruiser. It was quite time consuming, but I like how it turned out. It's at waterline, in case you were wondering. It might be a slight bit bland in some places, but it's harder just in Pimp My Gun.Now, for the armaments...
x20 SS-N-19 Shipwreck/P700 anti-ship missiles (2 being launched)
x64 Kinzal Vertical Launch System anti-air/missile silos (things sticking up in front of SS-N-19 silos)
x1 AK-130 130 mm anti-surface/air turret, two guns in the turret, mounted aft
x4 AK-630 30 mm 6 barreled Close In Weapons System Gatling Gun
x1 RBU-6000 12 tubed anti-submarine mortar, mounted way forward on the deck
x2 Ka-27 Helix helicopters (not pictured but would be on the rear helipad)
Kantata-M Electronic Warfare Suite
x12 4 barreled PK-10 Chaff/Flare Decoy Dispensers
It also has other communications, etc. systems onboard.
EDIT: I just realized that random triangle at the bottom-sorry it's making the ship pretty small. But I WILL NOT redo the entire thing.
EDIT2: The SS-N-19 missiles are P700, not P500-I changed that.

I don't even know. I guess I forgot to take out the shape before saving!

Could use some more shading, and alot more outlining. I would also use more shapes instead of LAMs, they stand out too much.

You want me to make the Kirov? Alright, when I have the time I'll make it.
Meanwhile, I suggest you take a look at my friend Icy's PMG ship works. [link] That's kinda what I meant.

Well if you want-I was just being as blunt as possible lol. I'm pretty sure that was shipbucket, and not PMG, that your mate is using. I wanted to use PMG, and plus this Kirov was from some time ago, when I had lesser PMG skills.

My mate is using PMG. Don't see the watermark? Plus, the shaded hull... that's an obvious giveaway, SB ships don't have those. You can even see the grouping error on the bottom left side on the hull.
I make shipbucket (both FD and SB scale) and I know how it looks like. It's just not on my Deviant, it's on my Flickr.

only one thing to add, if you would lengthen the forward superstructure and add a gap between the funnel and this forward superstructure it would look even more realistic

Except Battlecruiser is a bit of a misnomer...its supposed to be a Heavy Guided Missile Cruiser.

Yeah-I found some very helpful resources though, not just for Kirovs, but for other ships (albeit only Russian, from what I noticed). One had a full list of armaments and a description of them, as well as a stern shot of the Kirov-and let me tell you, finding that took a long time, because basically all the pictures I found of Kirovs were from the starboard bow quarter or port bow quarter. Anyways, I'd be happy to share them.
Also, I have found *so far* the best method of making a bow curve on the front...

Very nice, even if they aren't used anymore.
I think I'm gonna try pencil drawing a combo of the Ticonderoga class cruiser and Kirov class cruiser (after more research, I've been convinced the Kirov isn't as much a Battlecruiser as it is a heavy guided missile cruiser.

Super6-4 In reply to GeneralTate [2011-12-21 04:44:30 +0000 UTC]
Er...it's basically inexcusable to call the Kirov a BB...BC is arguable to some degree, but from what I've been researching, it's more like a 'Heavy' Guided Missile Cruiser.
What the world needs is a combo of the Kirov (mainly in size, and some armaments) and a Ticonderoga class Guided Missile Cruiser (for its 100+ missile capacity).
The Russki's are currently working on one or two of their Kirovs-one's in service, but another is supposed to be ready in 2012, although some sources say its already in service.

"The" drone missiles? As in AGMs? Sorry to burst your bubble, but AGM stands for Air-Ground Missile. I'm sorry-I'm just not sure what you mean. P500s are already pretty drone-ish...in a volley, there's a lead one, and if it gets taken out, then control shifts to another missile in the volley.
