Do you know if sh was ancing fancy shawl or traditional? Her regalia hints at a shawl, but I'm not sure.
I'm between a 4th and half Native myself; Navajo, Seneca, and Apache.

From what I remember , she was not wearing a shawl . Just the costume you see part of in the photo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You would enjoy the pow wow then they have every year in Collinsville Illinois !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are members of many tribes that come together for the event !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In Denver, we have one of the largest powwow's in the country in March; I've been to nine of 'em! You should head on over and take some portraits!
FYI, I just wanted to point it out that instead of costume, use the term regalia. It's just a tiny bit more respectful, but it's not well known outside of the Native communtity.

She's either part native American or married to one . Wish I could have spoken with her , I do LOVE learning about Cultures different than my own !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have a pow wow here in Collinsville Illinois every year and it would be great to see some Canadian Native Americans there sometime

I would have loved to have seen the entire figure. I've been to 2 pow wows and really had a great time. She is very lovely.

It was always very difficult to get their whole figure without getting part of someone else in it too !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Women tended to dance in groups together and close , so I ended up with more closeups !!!!!!!! This young Woman I tried to get one really good close up on , and this was about the beast ........... I think she's incredibly beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And she was an amazing dancer too !!!!!!!!!!!! Quite fluid and expressive with her dance !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I missed the pow wow here this year ....... it was last weekend .

Yeah , this was my first one and I really enjoyed it !!!!!! I LOVE learning about all different cultures !!!!! We all have to live together so we should celebrate our differences and enjoy them !!!!!!
