Story: Cinderella
Method: Mixed media needlefelt sculpture and photo editing

As the contest theme was adapting a fairy tale character, thought it would be fun to run with a white mouse cast as Cinderella. Her outfit was designed with a 'cinders' theme in mind, but ended up leaning more into a 'coal dust with red fire highlights' idea instead. Originally it would have been just the model against a simple cloth background but the contest does also emphasise story elements. So we borrowed a photo venue and took a couple of shots and then went to town on the lighting effects - so now Cinderella is at the Mousequerade ball, taking a breather on the balcony in-between dance sets.

EDIT: It WAS a contest entry, but sadly was deemed not eligible as there was a typo in the rules. "You may also pick any existing characters from any genre to play as the characters of your chosen fairy tale(s)" was actually meant to say "You MUST pick an existing character from a different modern story" so my usage of the white mouse was not what the host was looking for. I could of course have resubmitted and claimed she was Angelina Ballerina cast in Cinderella but a) she's too short, and b) it's a tad disingenuous
