All about the shading, not the lines? Dude, you don't know how you're drawn...

Haha, it's what my Dad used to always say to me when he was teaching me how to draw

your dad taught you how to draw? Oh that's interesting, I could not imagine myself in such a situation^^ I only knew my dad as a child, but i know he knows how to draw rather well, and my mom does too, but none of them taught me. I learned on my own. When I was a child I was only interested in drawing cats. Then at 14 I started drawing girls, and at 16 I got sick of girls and started drawing men. They still are my favourite subject. What about you? What's your story?

Well, putting this in context, my Dad only ever gave me a total of 2 drawing lessons when I was little. He was modest and didn't think he could draw (which is bullshit). But yeah - self taught with most things. When I was little I drew countless pictures of my dog, anime and Astro Boy. I always drew people though. Nothing much else. In art classes at school we were pressed into trying things that weren't in our comfort zone, so I did a lot of graphic design and photography at school, which has helped with composition quite a lot. I study film and tv at university - so that's helping too in some regards.
It's a shame you only knew your Dad as a child I never really drew girls as much as I drew guys. I don't know - I guess men are easier to draw than women. Haha.

oh no, the dad thing was my choice, it's not like he's dead or anything. I didn't know you had art lessons and it was you specialty at uni. I only had art lessons in high school but again, only the theme was compulsory, we were free to use any technique we liked so i never used photography^^ I could use lessons on how to use graphic software, though, I really suck at it.
