Disclaimer, this scenario is unrelated with the previous tease post (I've been working on it, don't worry), instead it's my try on All Tommorows (it's early history), a book written by the wonderful C.M Kösemen. At least I tried to imagine the solar system before the joint genetic engineering project between Mars and Earth resulted in Star People .

I take a few twist from the series The Expanse for the asteroid strikes and etc.

CURRENT YEAR 3230 AD, 441 AXT

EARTH
Earth is known to be divided for about 2 millennia. The cradle of humanity and the origins of human itself, Earth has been a premier power of Solar System. However, Earth is decaying. The half-millennia rivalry between it and Mars, the new home of humanity, slowly destroying the old world and rendered it almost uninhabitable.

Previously, there's the so-called world states. The First World State is the United Nations, an unstable confederation of nations[1] that happened to be unified by a common goal: to heal the Earth. United Nations rule longer than the other world state. They are the ones who colonize and terraformed Mars before Mars itself rebelled in early 2500's. After the lose of Mars, UN is destroyed by a series of wars by the Orbitals and a war between the nations itself. After the Third and Fourth World Wars and after 200 year of another division, the Earth Directorate rose to prominence in 2775, the Second World State.

Under the African-led Directorate, Earth prosper once more, a faster-than-light travel is possible although it's only commenced by drones (for now), setting a new age known as Extrasolar, a new calendar is set based on this[2]. A more unified entity is able to win a series of wars against Mars that later blockade the entire Solar System for trading with Earth by the year 3000. However, the Directorate didn't last long. After a series of war against the rebelled Selenites[3], the Directorate found itself in the middle of system-wide embargo, causing it to collapse. After the Sunshine Treaty, the Directorate is reduced to Africa only. Meanwhile, a new Martian state is formed and is dominating the solar system.

By the so-called "Great Collapse", new global movement based on Middle East and East Asia arose[4]. They want to form a true unified Earth, and bring back the golden age of Earth. And thus, the International Commonwealth was born as a result of the global-wide movement against foreign intervention, especially Mars and Luna. The IC re-engineered Earth and returning it's old ecology status except for Amazon. However, a war soon raging on again between IC-controlled Earth against UMT-controlled Mars over influence in the solar system, knowing that the old power has re-emerged. The war proved to be deadlier than the previous wars. FTL drones and complex quantum computer algorithm is the main player of this war, programmed to caused as many casualties on both sides. The war led to a death toll of more than 8 billion people, mostly on Earth. The war peaked in 3208 when both Mars and Earth destroy each other with a bunch of stealth asteroids.

With the end of the war and the destruction caused by the planet-wide asteroid strikes, International Commonwealth is dissolved. Earth undergoes a similar warlord period for about 5 years, until the IC-controlled Moon is seized by the oppositions, who intends to make peace with Mars. They formed the Second United Nations and quickly sent aid to Earth and eventually take them over. Today, Earth's population is declining. Mass migration is present and Earth's ecology is once again destroyed. But under the Second United Nations, will Earth prevailed? No one knows for sure, if the new UN is able to form the Fourth World State. The cradle is crumbling and there's little hope to save it.

MARS
Mars is used to be known as the "Red Planet". That is until early 2400's. Mars' history is complicated. From the colonization by Earth nations under UN jurisdiction and later the treaty to divide Mars. A failed rebellion in 2200's[5], another uprising in 2520's, before a huge so-called " Great Martian Revolution" when Mars happened to be positioned on the opposite of the Earth, and a bunch of revolutionaries seized UN's governmental cities and declaring the Martian Coalition. Earth is shattered by this and a war on Earth ensues.

The MC eventually functions as an official government of Mars, soon, First Martian Republic[6] is formed and quickly seized various Earth colonies. The FMC continues the already done terraforming project and completing the last stages of terraformation by the end of 26th century. To Martians , these are the most critical moments of the history of mankind. The FMC however, is a very unstable state, and eventually a new authoritarian and militaristic state emerges. Such as the Martian People's Confederation and the famous Martian Empire led by ATLAS, an AI happened to be inspired by ancient leaders such as Xi Jinping and Putin[7]. However, these states also brought prosperity to the Martians itself. Genetic engineering is present. Martian looks taller and skinnier due to high gravity, even some of them resembles "old humanity's depiction of humanoid aliens on Mars".

After the Directorate's rise, however, Cold War happened, once again. Both enters another Thucydides trap. A war soon follows, destroying the Martian Empire. The United Martian Technocracies is formed. Under UMT, Mars experienced a slow but stable rise. By early 3000's, UMT ordered a system-wide blockade against Earth and wages a war against the dominant Earth Directorate. However, they once again loses. A series of reform made Mars in a stable position as the Directorate declines. The new International Commonwealth is openly aggressive towards Mars, another war is brewing. Despite experiencing a heavy losses, Mars lose few than Earth, and thus winning a pyrrhic victory[8]. As a direct result of this war, the Martian economy collapses, as it's capital city and it's surrounding area is destroyed due to Phobos being destroyed by Earth and the subsequent fallout caused by it's debris.
Today, Mars is a declining power, rebellion is present in loosely-controlled districts. Will they follow the same path as Earth's? No one knows.

VENUS
In contrast to Earth and Mars, Venus is considered as a new, yet unexpected hegemony of the Solar System. Colonization of Venus actually begins in early 2300's with corporation from Earth and Mars building a large floating cities before an Earther private corporation, Morning Star decided to terraform the planet entirely. The terraforming project began and lasted for about 700 years, even after Morning Star Co itself bankrupted. In 2913, Venus is officially terraformed, although the inhabitants needed a special suit to traverse the landscape of vast genetically-engineered Venusian vegetations.

Venus became a place for escape for humans on both Mars and Earth that's genuinely tired of their half-millennia animosity toward each other. A peaceful society is formed. However, Venus is still divided between ethnic Earthers and ethnic Martians. The great superpowers divide the planet for centuries before a unity movement is called. People are genetically engineered to be distinct from both Earthers and Martians, resulted in a more unified society.

Venus declared its independence peacefully after their masters destroys each other's throats. The first Venus-wide nation, Confederation of Cytherea[9] is declared in 3082, Venus however never escaped war, the war become a three-sided war. After the devastating war between International Commonwealth and United Martian Technocracies left them destroyed, the Venusian come to aid both planets with humanitarian aids, while simultaneously seizing Earth and Martian colonies across the outer system, causing it to be an undisputed hegemony of the system.

FOR ALL TOMMOROWS
An iconic photo of a representative from Earth and Mars shaking their hands under a Venusian spacecraft proved that peace soon exist between both planets. System-wide peace soon followed. Although this peace has its own cracks such as piracy in the former Asteroid Belt, and a group called Free System and even the International Commonwealth remnants who lived in a mobile stations, whose accused Venus to be responsible for the destruction on both Earth and Mars, seeing the Venusian as the orchestrator of the last wars. Despite all of this, humanity is able to encompass the stars, colonizing the nearby stars in the process. The inner planets now working on a series of projects to genetically engineer selected humans to further colonize the deep space. The golden age of humanity isn't over: it's just started.
