Description After uploading the "Rock-Aozora NES-ish Sprites" image, I decided to upload this one as well.
It's a bit more recent, form around December 2014 to be exact.

The character is Sata, the player character from the unlicensed Game Boy game "Magic Lamp", redrawn into a Mega Man-styled sprite. I've previously attempted actual art for Sata back in 2012, which I since scrapped.

Since doing that art I've actually bought a cart of the game (a Chinese-language one) form a user on the Pirate Games Community Forums (who also gave me the Game Boy port of Sachen's Jurassic Boy 2 for free), and guess what? It's not that good after all. Brushing aside the fact that I could barely see the game since my copy doesn't work on anything with a front/backlight (Super Game Boy and Game Boy Player included), the only exception being a custom-made monochrome Game Boy I got from GameBoyMods.UK, the game is rather clunky with stiff controls, Sata taking up so much of the screen (so much that trying to beat the first boss, Super, is harder than it would be with standard Mega Man (even the Game Boy games') physics. Plus, THAT MIDDLE-CHARGE BLADE IS ANNOYING AS HECK. And with that, the only redeeming factor of the game is the character design and (at least part of) the story.

So what about this custom spriteshet? As you can see I tried making it accurate to NES standards, with Sata's skin and eyes being on one layer and all his clothing being on the other. The default weapon switches between the two palettes used on Sata (rather than using it's own palette), and the other two palettes available for use on-screen are used for enemies, bosses, and other hazards. I've also thrown in a screenshot of Mega Man for size comparisons.

Hey! I come to your Gallery, and for the first time, the first thing I see is this different stuff!: Sprites!
This is not to say your regular art is bad. Nonono Just to say, well, we were talking about sprites and stuff, and had spoken about it even a long time ago, and then it came up again and the first thing I see is it, so I guess it means something positive related to it happened- even if still no game was able to be made and the game these were about apparently sucked and could not even be played with a backlight...
But yeah. Cool to see.

Lawl, thanks bro.
I actually think I'm better at spriting stuff than I am at actual art, though my laziness (sadly) is what causes a lot of what I sprite to be incomplete, which includes this character.

Emulation would certainly help with the level of difficulty, ontop of being able to see more clearly you could abuse the heck of of savestates to get it over with quicker. Unfortunately due to particular quirks that affects all the games made by the company (Gowin), they can't be dumped and released in ROM form.

Any game you need to get over with quickly sucks as a game . BUT I can still see a person playing it for, like, historical reasons.

Exactly.
There's a lot of games that I'd consider historic.

Yeah, but you don't need to be too much like AVGN, since the Angry Video Game Nerd tortures himself learning about bad games.

Dude! That's crazy obscure stuff, I honestly thought the game looked pretty cool when I saw that footage of it a while ago, shame it ain't that good. Really sweet character sprites here, very surprised to see this!
