no i didn't have any trouble with that. i usually just make sure the exposure and white balance are right, and everything else falls into place

The way you played with lights definitely creates the atmosphere of a music club. I can nearly ear the sound of the music.

SERIOUSLY wonderful lighting here. I love the way the texture of the pores on his face echo the dots on the head of the microphone. I love the blue tones to this on the left, blending so well into the warmer tones on the right. Love the hint of light on his jawline. I am so loving this man's skin. He's gorgeous! What lips! If he can sing like he looks, LOOK OUT!

Stunning image - the atmosphere you've created with the lighting is simply perfect.
As for my usual minor quibble, it would be nice if the microphone was marginally more prominent, but you can't have everything in life.

Love it - the lighting is bang on. The subtle blue tones on the right side of his face brings that nostalgic feeling for a classic jazz club.
I like the first shot in the series, too, but this is the winner in my books.

The first thing that captures me with this shot is your asymetrical balance using colors. The sharp and warm red tones in the triangle shaped form around his nose and mouth is a prefect offset to the bluer tones of the rest of the scene.
Using the Mic as a foreground tool really works well and helps give the idea the full story to this singer.
For some reason though I saw the scene and thought a really classy Rap scene. Not sure why. The Blues style is obvious, so Iam not sure where this idea came from.
Again, great use of the your highlight keys here and your subtle midtones. Can't really see anything in this image I would have done differently. Good crop and everything. Thanks for the art show. *Tips hat*
