Description
This is my concept for what I believe would be a much better SpongeBob spin-off idea than the ones we've had as of late.
Here, you can see my designs for all four prominent members of The Cheeks Family, her parents Dusty and Ginger Cheeks, her brother Randy, (mentioned once in the SpongeBob episode "Rodeo Daze"), and a young Sandy Cheeks herself.
The show itself would be set above water on Cheeks Bullworm Ranch in Houston, Texas in the year 1996, three years before the first SpongeBob episode took place and before Sandy would make her journey underwater to the town of Bikini Bottom.
Sandy Cheeks (Age 19) has very much of her same personality as in the main show (meaning Seasons 1-3 of SpongeBob), though she's slightly less mature and more prone to putting her own pride over common sense. She has a very close relationship with her parents and twin brother, forged by Western family values and hard work on their family ranch.
Randy Cheeks (Age 19), though being very much like his sister, he's very prone to frustration and anger, often caused by "bitin' off more than he can chew" by trying to prove his toughness in any given situation. Even though it almost always backfires on him, Sandy truly respects his tenacity and she knows that when push comes to shove, Randy will have her back.
Ginger Cheeks (Age 50), the matriarch of the family, looks and seems like the typical Western housewife on the outside, but looking closer at her, she's not afraid to get her paws dirty and do what's best for her family. Slightly eccentric, Ginger very much inspired Sandy's inventiveness in her later life.
Dusty Cheeks (Age 53), father of Sandy and Randy and husband to Ginger, is very much the epitome of "Old West Texas cowboy" persona. Though he doesn't seem to show much emotion, it's clear that he has a soft spot in his heart for his family and would go the extra mile to put their needs above his own. Unlike Randy, Dusty actually is tough and has a true Texas confidence that he can take on any problem head-on. As such, he is Sandy's main role model for being "Texas tough".
