Description
It feels odd being back at this again after such a big break. I hope everyone's doing okay.My robot is nicknamed the "Knowbot", his purpose is to store, manage and give facts, information and data. He is programmed with access to hundreds of thousands of articles and books which he can look through for key information. Ask him a question and he will very soon have an answer! Math, literature, science, he knows it all.
Not only is the Knowbot capable of finding and researching facts and information, he is also capable of translating between languages. Ask him to translate a sentence, or simply input a word or phrase using his keyboard and he will translate it into the language of your desire, and play the correct pronunciation through his speakers.
He is able to connect to the internet, where a screen on his chest will display everything. He has a keyboard but you can also use basic voice commands to find webpages and such manually. Below the monitor is a DVD player which you can use to watch and play films, hopefully educational ones! He can also read books to you. Just put a book into his hand and as soon as you ask him to, he will scan the pages and then read them to you.
But what's he made out of?
His head is just a glass dome which contains a small light, this will light up once he has finished finding or processing a piece of info or data. On his head he wears an academic cap, this is purely aesthetic, though pulling the string on top of it is what powers him up and shuts him down.
His chest is basically a computer, inside is his CPU. His chest also has a monitor and a set of speakers. The actual casing is built from plastic and the inside is manufactured from simple computer parts. His arms are attached via metal balls, allowing full rotation of his arms in all directions. His arms themselves are made of sectioned metal, allowing his arms to be flexible and stretchy, so that he can reach all the books that are high on the shelf! His hands are metal claws, they're not much but they do the job and they're great for holding textbooks!
His waist is constructed out of tubing, which is equally as flexible as his arms and legs and below that you can find his DVD player. On his right side next to the DVD player you can find his keyboard, which should be at a good height for most people to use and if it isn't his legs can adjust to your height so that it is!
Thank you.
