"Hey, guys. Do you remember when we first met?"
"How could I forget?! You were such a noob that you ran me right into that Motobug!"
"HA HA HA HA!!! The look on your face, Hedgehog! ... Ah Yes, those were the days."
So I'M a day late, but whatever.Β In honor of Sonic's big 25th! I have prepared a fan art picture describing my very first experience playing Sonic the Hedgehog on my aunt's SEGA Genesis!
I enjoyed the game so much I got a Genesis/Sonic 2 Bundle the following birthday! And my aunt gave me her copy of the game as a birthday present! Still have it now!
To make the scenery a bit more interesting, I added a few extra details. I couldn't be happier with how it came out altogether!
Enjoy everybody! Happy Anniversary to Sonic the Hedgehog and Dr. Ivo "The Eggman" Robotnik, and his collection of S1 Badniks!

So awesome you noticed all the details! That's how I like my backgrounds~ I wanted to keep the original level's layout the same and make the Zone past the lake to look more interesting at the same time!Β And to answer your question: about a few days in all. Thanks again, SUPA!Β

Detail is one of my favorite things about drawing. With backgrounds I always strive to make them as interesting as possible. And it seems it's detail that usually gets noticed most.
