It feels like ages since I put something up on DA :/ Anyways I'm still working on my "resistance" story. I try to write a bit every day, and so far everything goes well
Anyways, these are just some drawings I made for showing what the main characters look like. (i used tons of refs, tons!) I added some facts about them too! Well, I hope you like them a bit Read more on : [link]

Akiko lijkt me een kick-ass meid, Ryo ziet er ook erg cool uit (awesome sniper rifle!), Shiro en Rin zijn volgens mij meer de comic-reliefs van de groep en dan vooral Rin. Zie het al helemaal voor me hoe ze door t lint gaat, haha!
Dus kortom, super special awesome en k ben erg super benieuwd naar het verhaal!

Ben ook al heel wat aan het schrijven geweest! Maar het is wel moeilijk om de interacties goed te maken D: zo bedenken hoe de een gaat reageren op de ander en proberen "in" character te blijven .____. Soms denk ik van "goh wat is shiro zo serious hier" of van "hier komt die character weer te weinig aan bod" phooeeeeeeee Dx

Good spotting! I based myself on the french resistance in WWII, they also wore ribbons, but with the french flag

I hate drawing them.. Might as well trying to be drawing a background instead DX
Even with references (which I would have used ;_; ) You've done very well on them, very effective!

Well there's nothing bad with using references! I think a lot artists use them (even when they don't admit it) ^^ I use them for guns, but also for certain poses or hands etc. Because well i find it hard to draw something by heart, I must have something to lean on to

Ugh, I hate them sooo much DX
But I'm at the point now where I'm learning to draw them :/
I've got male and female characters down to a T, it's just the places I put them in now XD
And, yes, a lot of artists use references because it's down right impossible to be able to draw EVERYTHING perfectly u.u

indeed it is impossible to draw without any ref!
I'm now working on tons of character designs and if i were to do them without refs It would take me years lol XD And well you always want to make your OC's look decent right XD

I draw mostly without references now though, I usually only use them for backgrounds or for characters I've never drawn before.

I've been drawing for about three and a bit years now, so it's understandable I wouldn't really need to use them anymore :I
I only have few characters XD
Mainly because I like to give them more attention then making loads of them XD
But I have to agree with you, it's a lot of fun creating their stories and designs, that's why being an artist in general is so fun, because of the freedom you get.

We don't call universities schools here, generally, over here school's are considered for teaching little kids, not grown ups XD

Yeah.. My dedication my be something to admire.. but my art doesn't live up to expectation ;_;
It's never as good as I wanted it to be.. And then you see people's art on the first page who say 'Well, this was only a doodle, and took me about ten minutes'
And I'm like.. 'But it takes me days to get that good with one picture! And even then, it's still not even that good T_T'

I gave up after a while, stopped playing when I got to grade 4..
