Download for the full view!MAN, OH ...MAN! This single handedly takes a dozen cakes for being the HUGEST commission I have ever done. And it was all done on ustream as I promised. You can check out some of the recorded chunks on my ustream channel which should be linked on my page soon. I seem to do this regularly as it is both fun, and ...it keeps me in gear. (:
I'm extremely happy with how this turned out and I sure hope *BatteryMunkey is too with the outcome. She even got me to include Jakk and myself in this picture which I am extremely grateful for given the opportunity to include even my own characters in the act of all this. Lots of fifth generation action is happening in this piece as well.
I'm really not sure what to say on the perspective, I attempted a mild fish eye view sorts to kind of capture the city and the water/railings with all the pokemon mingling about. I tell you this was a record for the largest picture scale wise measuring at about 18 wide by 28 tall. The dimension is poster size as requested from the start. She'll be printing this once she recieves the .pdf file (which is available if you tell me at the start of a commission if you plan on printing it.)

Just a question though: How do you get that smooth look to yout pictures? It's hard to desribe, it's the way you colour it. It looks as if it was drawn on smooth plastic or something, but I've always fancied that style. How do you acheive that? O.o

Well I'm making my way through them eventually XD; like now! I know exactly what you mean with that, it's almost a combination of smooth lineart with gradients incorporated into your artwork. A final trick is when all your layers are flattened you duplicate it, and set one to a gaussian blur while the one over top of it has a transparency of say... 80? That'll give it it's final glow.
I'm not sure if it helps but when I was in the beginning stages I always wondered myself until I figured it out. XD

I love the perspective and how each pokemon seems to have it's own personality and expression.
In the back ground it looks as though the female is schooling the male in "The ways of Isshu"
