This is by far one of my favourite drawings of Pinkie Pie. The idea is very original and beautifully executed. The shading of their bodies and the colours contrast enough to show the difference between them - Pinkie in her older form being a bit lighter then her younger form - symboling her change and growth.
I love how the artist has added wings and a halo to Pinkie, as though to reflect the idea of transcendence from her younger self. I haven't seen many drawings of Pinkie Pie that want to delve into the deeper character development she has experienced in the show and it's beautiful that someone has done this with such a simple idea yet moving image.
It makes me think of how in Pinkie's solo song 'Smile, Smile, Smile' she says the lines "It's true, some days are dark and lonely. Any maybe you'll feel sad, but Pinkie will be there to show you that it isn't that bad". It is as though she is speaking to her younger self these words, as long as she always smiles she'll find love and acceptance within herself. The accompanying poem also very nicely adds to the feel of the piece.
It's a beautiful drawing and idea - one that shows that Pinkie has insecurities and experiences pain like everyone else - but she is also very strong.
