Description
Net is a character belonging to a story I've had since I was twelve (though both have gone through some MAJOR changes) you may see some similarities to the design of my other OC's, but I designed them after I had written down the basics for this character. her species is called the Amaranth, which I might not have included in the document I'm about to cut and paste. you don't have to read it, it gives insight to the Amaranthine and Antecedent(the ones that came before) species overall.

    Nesha(NET)

    OVERALL:

    Physiology/anatomy

                    Overall anatomy: inner glow, usually a greenish color but Nesha is blue. Skin is grey and semi-clear, allowing the veins of light to glow. PURPOSE of the “lights”: This species has no need of food, because of being near a white dwarf star during early creation(?). As they progressed they developed “souls” which are points of energy buried in their chest cavity, that “feeds” them. Thus because they have these “souls” they do not need to eat and where most of their organs for food would be is replaced by organs that help them translate that energy for use.

    They are bipeds, with alterations for the environment they live in. We shall focus on the main era of their anatomy, when it was their “favorite”.

    They are basically mammals, but with a lack of hair on most of their bodies because they have no need for reproduction. They range between 8-10 feet tall

     The skull has a sort of crest on the forehead, which allows extra protection for their brains that house immediate information and control over the nervous systems for instant learning and instinct. Their eyes are particularly large, similar to a wolf or cat, however they are illuminated from the inside because of their inner energy. This is not a big problem when it comes to sight, because their energy does not interfere with the refraction of light inside of the lense. (they have no eyebrows)If they did have problems seeing, their ears would be sufficient enough to help. The ears are rather large, accounting for the fact that the enemies of this species keeps to the dark. And since the star system they are a part of is in a star cluster instead of the main part of the galaxy, there is not much light at night. This species loves their ears and takes good care of them, which is a part of their culture.

    The hair they have is not considered hair, but is more similar to a wire. Little strands are encased inside of a dark flexible outer shell, which helps in collecting data with surrounding electrical fields. They have four nostrils, accounting for the lack of a protruding nose. When communicating with each other they use their ears, eyes, nostrils, and light to communicate. However when communicating with a more verbal species or when threatening something, they resort to warbling and chittering. Their hands house a calcified element that protrudes through the skin and makes the appearance of claws. When threatened the claws become longer and glow because of their inner light.

    Most of these creatures have a more male physiology, yet they became rather physically ambiguous because of their lack of need to reproduce and because of the conditions they have needed to adapt to. NET is more female and tends towards more female things (possibly because her immediate predecessor was a female). The legs of this species are muscular and double jointed, similar to a dinosaur yet padded at the bottom like a lion’s or a wolf. Their legs are like this because of the swiftness needed for multi-terrain. They also have a plain tail to keep balance because of their legs.



    LORE: PHYSIOLOGICAL CHANGES AND IMMORTALITY



    As a species, they are basically lawmakers of the universe. They guide other species and protect them, even partaking in their history. However personal agendas vary slightly, and eventually things changed after the fall of the Daskas(evil creatures)

    This species is special, because their inner souls are able to give them the ability to adapt, though the need changed after technology advanced because of the energy it takes for the conversion process. This includes adapting to small things such as breathing argon, oxygen, or nitrogen as a main source of breathable air (though it wouldn’t permanently kill them usually, a setback such as asphyxiation is devastating and harmful) some have even permanently found a use for internal gills located in the mouth for underwater use.



    THE SAD AND LONELY TRUTH

    (Abbreviated because gosh this story is LONG)



    In their beginning there was a planet called haven, with grand technologies from another time. It was made by something similar to humans in hopes of escaping the dying universe in which they lived. However none of the original humanoids survived, leaving scattered remains of a space age along that star system. There were labs on Haven, and on the other planets, but none of them survived except one. The automated system took plants and the life from that planet to create a species that could live there. What emerged were small, huge eyed, three foot creatures with no real intelligence, but a fiery curiosity for the universe. As they grew in knowledge and stature they began to discover more about their universe and the valuable caches the humanoids left behind. They began to die off because of their frail nature, so in their search for a solution they realized that they could change themselves and create for themselves a “soul”, which captured the radiation and light from the star. Their belief was it held the knowledge of the universe, and those that ascended would become immortal even when their bodies were left behind. Not everyone could ascend, so after a few hundred years they began to look different. The Immortals were the same being that had been there for centuries, and the ones left behind had died and had children and so on. Net was one who could ascend, we can talk more about personal stories later.
