it's about a cat called Alex who is a kittypet/house cat (if you've heard of Warriors cats, which i think you have, then you'll know what a kittypet is) who has always wondered what it was like in the forest, like Firestar i guess
and in the story i'm writing now, it's about the adventures that he gets up to with his friends and stuff C: Chocolate is the cat that lives next door to him

I actually went and found the relevant information.
Lotteries/raffles aren't allowed, because it's gambling (or "games of chance" as they call it), and dA has no way of knowing if they're being conducted fairly. Apparently there are laws about that.
I'm pretty sure an auction is fine, since only one person ends up having to pay anything, and they're getting something in return that isn't more points.
So I wouldn't worry about it. ^^
