...here is one of my latest commissions for a fellow deviant member-challenge with this one was the Question's mysterious "living" mist that is part of his persona-plus it's the first time that I rendered this ole' Charlton Comics character.*Pen & Ink on bristol

The Question is awesome--at least based on his JLU appearances. I remember in the commentary of his debut episode "Fearful Symmetry," Bruce Timm & co. said they felt like after making this episode that they could build a whole series around him. I wish!

He only had a few cameos in the last season, but in the first season box set he has a very memorable starring role early on and then goes on to be a central figure in the plot in the episodes building up to the climax. He's my favorite JLU character. I highly recommend renting, netflixing or even buying the first set of JLU--it's one of the best adventure cartoons ever made, IMO. (It does help to have seen Justice League first, though.)

OH MY EFFING GOD! The Question is one of my fav Super-Heroes, and Starfire is the shizzy-nizzy! They are both so cool! INSTANT FAV!!!!

Don't know much about the Question but have drawn Starfire and her fellow titans quite a few times over the years-I even have a George Perez original of her hangin on my wall...

I drew a few times in the past at conventions as requests-closest thing I have to her in this gallery is "Nightveil" who is similar in nature/powers to "Raven" but belongs to another company altogether....AC Comics.

-no haven't read a new comic in some time now,will have to check it and see what you're referring to as far as the art goes...might be a young artist at the helm earger to make an impression which is all well and good as long as you don't overdo it.
The colorist will be a different artist altogether.Last "new" book I read was "Pride of Baghdad" a well conceived and executed graphic novel-I highly reccomend it.
Now I really must harken to thine beer wench for yet another tankard of Meade, many pardons my Lady...

YAY!!!! Medeval mumbo-jumbo!!! AH! I love it! Yeah, I know the colorist is a whole different guy, but the way I see it, the penciler must have known that those over-the-top colors would only add to the initial impression of his work. Maybe he felt that subtle colors would defeat the whole purpose of the high-powered drawings, but I think toned down colors would have complimented it. Or, at the very least, made it a little more easy on the eyes... Thank you for the reccomendation, I will have to look into it someday! Thanks Shawn!

the Question wears a artificial skin over his face that forms a featurless mask, hence no eyes,mouth,nose..etc.
