Description
This is one of my favourites out of all my drawings. I original saw this as the 1 inch high image on the DVD cover. I had to search to net to find a larger version of the image, and even then, it wasn't that great. Drawing hair is one of my favourite parts of an image, and I really enjoyed doing this, but there is so much detail in her headpiece! It was a lot of work.Drawn on A3 with graphite pencils. Drawing time about 15 hours.

This is stunning! All the work you put into the headdress and hair is brilliant! Wow, you do have an eye for details. Good for you. Now do you want to teach me how to do hair better.

Thanks for the comment. I don't know, I think your hair is pretty good. I tend to work the lights and dark areas, rough them in, then blend the graphite, and then at the end, go over it with a sharp pencil for lots of individual hairs, making sure to carry some dark hairs right through the light areas. For light coloured hair, I'll also often use an electric eraser to get some white hairs to go over dark areas, but I didn't do that at all in this image. Hair is great because it almost always uses the full range of tones from lightest to darkest, and it has nice shiny highlights. *sigh* I must draw more hair.

Looks like a LOT of work. Absolutely amazing detail. The hair is almost hypnotizing will all of those lines. Very beautiful!

Wow this is really amazing!!! The work on the details is incredible and you did such a fantastic job on the textures! You could very easily mistake this for a photo, keep up the amazing work!

Thanks! Yes, the texture nearly drove be batty, but they were worth the effort.
