Conan in a tavern in some town, enjoy the company....This was a tough one, i thought Buscema would be a fun ink but its was more of a challenge with the lighting and the pencil work then i thought. I Liked it but need to study his work inked more if i ink his work again. This was all done one night of sleeplessness from allergies, took about 5 hours once into it.
This is a test page from Gary Martin's book 'Art of comic book Inking' collected edition.

Inks by
11x17" bristol board, Ph Martin Black Star matte and Hi-carb mix india ink, #2 Isaby brush and white paint.

Thank you, the eye was my setting, the rest was all the penciler he made some great simple lines really dictate my inks more than i thought they would.
Glad you like it, the wooden beams in the roof on conan's side in the black ink were my addition.

Yep, 1st try inking him, its quite a fun and yet interesting piece to try.
Gary Martin turned me on to it with Bill's inking of it.

I grew up reading the comics Big John worked. Him and George Perez are probably my two biggest artistic influences as a kid. Good stuff.

Yep, I loved John's work amazing how it came out.
George Perez is really cool, love his work as well and i have meet him a few times now, man has a ton of energy.
Just got to meet Tommy Castillo and Billy Tucci, both very cool.
