Well, Slenderman has always been associated with Creepypasta. Creepypasta means "horror stories that has has circulated in the internet." Since Slenderman was an internet horror figure created in Something Awul forums, he technically a Creepypasta.
What confuses me is how Masky and Hoody (from Marble Hornets) became part of creepypasta, but other creepy/creepier Slenderman minions are hardly included. Alex Kraile is a bigger treat in the Marble Hornet's story than either Masky or Hoody and more loyal to The Operator (MH's Slenderman).

Well, I gave my reasoning. What's your reason why Slenderman is not a creepypasta? And since you don't include Masky and Hoodie as creepypasta, then the Observer is not a creepypasta too since they are the same. (Masky and Hoody are from Marble Hornets and the Observer is from TribeTwelve) And by your logic, this fanart is not a creepypasta fanart. (except the OCs)

Slenderman appeared on something awful forums, as an entry to an urban legends contest. His official canon has nothing to do with CP, like masky and hoodie.
