Description
Another one of Lupo and one of the other wolves (dominant female I think). They look quite different in shape because lupo (the white one) came from north america and the other ones were european. I like this one.© Me

Just one question; do European and American wolves get on well when put together?
I remember asking a zoo keeper (who kept both European and American wolves, but in seperate enclosures) which of the two kinds were the most easy/difficult to manage. Apparently, the American wolves were more friendly and sociable, while the European wolves could never be fully trusted.

This is BRILLIANT!
It perfectly confirms what John Richardson wrote in his Fauna Boreali Americana;
[The European wolf's] head is narrower, and tapers gradually to form the nose, which is produced on the same plane with the forehead. Its ears are higher and somewhat nearer to each other ; their length exceeds the distance between the auditory opening and the eye. Its loins are more slender, its legs longer, feet narrower, and its tail is more thinly clothed with fur. The shorter ears, broader forehead, and thicker muzzle of the American Wolf, with the bushiness of the hair behind the cheek, give it a physiognomy more like the social visage of an Esquimaux dog than the sneaking aspect of an European Wolf.
