To the new deviant, and even to deviants who have been here a while, this website can be an intimidating maze of resources, features, and tools that are difficult to navigate. Because of the nature of the beast, we here at suture would like to direct members of the literature community to the little-known world of the dA lit forums.

The Lit-based Forums on dA

forum.deviantart.com/galleries… & Prose Forum) - This is the place where writers can go to talk about anything related to the craft. Discussions from favorite books to current trends in the publishing world, and anything and everything in between, are welcome here.

forum.deviantart.com/galleries… Workshop Forum) - This is the place to post links to your newest work in order to receive critical feedback. This is also where workshops and critique events are announced and sometimes there's even contests, prompts, exercises, and idea threads to get you jump started and pumped for writing.

forum.deviantart.com/galleries… Literature Forum) - Although the name says "Fantasy," this functions more as a genre forum where people can share ideas, character designs, and all sorts of things pertaining to their chosen genre of work.

Other dA forums to note

forum.deviantart.com/entertain… Forum) - This is the go-to place for talk about books and authors.

forum.deviantart.com/devart/th… Forum) - This is where deviants can post thumbnails to their own most recent or favorite work. It's a great place to request certain kinds of dA literature to read or to just share your own work. Threads often request links to literature here.

forum.deviantart.com/devart/we… Center Forum) - If you're new to deviantArt, this is the place to go. We are going to be on the look-out for new writers and lit folk in the Welcome Center, so please feel free to drop by with your questions and blurbs about yourself and your work.

The forums can be a confusing place at first, but they can function as a very important resource. They are definitely a great tool to get people involved in the community and exposed to other work and other writers here.

So drop by, have a look at the threads, see what all the buzz is about.
