Heck, it's only been in recent months that I've started doing any shading on my pictures, and you're already well into the game. Keep up the great work.

I know a lot of people that do the shading by hand (I think yours too?), but I choose to do it differently.
Using some tricks I've learned in GIMP (my Photoshop alternative), I use copies of the vectors I use to make shadows and shading of sorts. I can make the copied vector completely black, and use the opacity slider thingy to make it transparent. Bam! Super quick shading.
Over the months, I've tried new techniques. Some seem pretty nice, and others have failed miserably. Just have to try things out for yourself and see what works.
