It is definitely interesting to watch as the characters morph here through your process. I forget the the name of the guy in the center, but I like how you changed him from the dashing hero who looks far too impressed with his good own looks (eg: Gaston), to someone who actually is brave and true and has a real personality that you'd like to get to know. I like the very subtle down turn of the head in the old woman -- head bowed with age, but looking up knowingly at the people around her.

Every frame seems like he slayed different dragons. Awesome job, though. You inspired me.

I love how you choose to make his face more nurturing and friendly in the painted stages versus the sketch. Definitely looks like a cheerful guy people wanted to be around which plays into getting attached to the characters' demise/fall into evil. Now I want to know more about him!

To me, you're good at everything so this is perhaps a stupid question to ask you. But when you start a drawing like this, do you work on it with confidence like "I know I can do this" or are you more like "How am I gonna pull this off? This is hard!"

Haha i always start with: how am i gonna pull this off! It's like a sign to me that if I am confident of success in the early setup that I haven't challenged myself enough.
I am currently working on a battle scene with multiple characters and I am like: Why do I keep punishing myself like that XD?

Hahaha! Really?! It's hard to imagine. But still it must somehow be a little easier for a better artist that already has the fundemental knowledge to build on. If I did a battle scene with my current knowledge it would look very odd haha!

It's a good recommendation to aim for a sort of redesign during development of an artwork if one has the feel to be stuck. Well done.

I like the final expression you chose for the hero.

Do you have a place where we can read excerpts of your story?
