I must admit that your Tolkien-related work is very solid in general, but that this piece is particularly good; it conveys all the qualities one expects to see in a rendition of Old Fangorn (measured, thoughtful qualities if a touch prone to what seems almost pathological procrastination - rather like elderly individuals who have taken to believing that the outside world has grown up around THEM and will therefore be tolerated, but not in the least permitted to impose upon this particular individual); I am particularly impressed by the simple design of those all-important eyes of his that yet manages to convey all the weight of the Growing World one sometimes sees in The Green Man, that perpetual inspiration of sculptors.

This is just beautiful! One of the few things I liked about PJ's movies was that he seemed to get the 'look' of many of the characters right (their character? not so much... *sigh*) but this looks much more like what I envisioned Treebeard to be. Excellent work and thank you for sharing it pre-release!

Same here - PJ's film versions filled in some characters I hadn't envisioned well, but I've always loved the ents (I'm a forester by profession) and his just never quite worked for me. Thank you again for sharing this!
