Description
Oil paint, acrylic paint, expanding foam, spray paint, marker pen, photographic images, pom poms, PVA glue and varnish on canvas.
With this piece I wanted to create something overpowering and uncomfortable yet strangely attractive to the viewer. The canvas is approximately 3' x 5' as I felt that working on a large scale would add to the feeling of intensity when confronted with the piece. In this work, I aim to convey a sense of feeling lost in ones own thoughts. The painted figure is surrounded by an intestine-like mass growing from the canvas, which in turn has spawned imagery and words. It is about the internal in relation to the external. My aim is to make the viewer feel overloaded and confused, while at the same time questioning their own innerworkings.
