a cliché title for a cliché photo. i don't think cliché is such a curse word as many think, what would the world be like without all the nice clichés?this is just an average one though, not like the best cliché taken to the max, i love trying to do that too. thinking of which...i better go shoot some...

really like it - because compostion is probably one of my (many) weakest points, i try and study shots critically to see what makes them work - this one actually surprised me, because although the lips are placed in a fairly logical place, the locations of the eye highlight and the highlight on her right breast are almost exactly mirrored... seems to have the effect of dragging my eye up and down the image all the time. Balances the shot nicely, and i don't think it would have worked half as well if the breast highlight wasn't there. I think it's a deceptively clever image.

It's not enough for a woman just to be physically appealingly made - the photographer has to have the skill to bring that out of her. I think of the younger Kate Bush - in some photos she's a goddess who brings mortals to their knees, in others she looks like the kind of bag person you see & smell next to you on the 2.30am night-bus. A lot depended on those who took her pictures.
So, she's either in a long-term relationship or a lesbian, right? Just checking.

Your control of 'the dark' is quite extraordinary on this piece. It's as though her eye is a light source all on it's own, giving just enough light to make it's own point.
