Yeah that's what my friends have told me. They said it's kinda like mai-Hime, only the characters have different names. I've wanted to see it for awhile

they may have it in youtube. umm...it's a bit different. There are original characters from the original anime. but..yeah...they did change some of their names. watch it. it's very nice. and I seriously prefer this series than mai-HiME.
There's two OVA by the way:
mai-otome zwei and mai-otome s.ifr
