As the Cavitto falls through the sky, the clouds cry for their decent from paradise to earth and try to make the fall as comfy and pleasant as possible. The Cavitto that are graced by cloud coverage have a coat color that is similar to the sky they fell through when they were cast out of Olympia. If it was a fiery lit sunset, their coat would take on those colors, if it was a bright blue day with big white puffy clouds, their coat would look like such.
The colors only appear on the part of the body that was falling first. So if a horse was falling feet first, the sky colors would only show up on it's legs and fade as it moved up it's body. If the horse fell head first, the markings would be on it's head and fade up the neck, ect. Also, the eyes and hooves match some color in the Skyfire. Another aspect of Skyfire is soft looking cloud like vapor streaming from the long hairs on it's body. Typically it's seen on the feathers on the legs but it can possibly come from the mane and tail.
If a horses decent was truly slowed by the magic in the clouds then more of the body will have absorbed the color pigment and their body could be more heavily covered. It is rare for a horse to be more than 50% colored. If a horses body was slowed to the point where their whole body absorbed the sky's colors then that horse is 100% infertile do to its DNA strands being effected by the magic. Note to Breeder: Any foal manifesting the Skyfire gene will be rolled for whether or not it is 100% covered and therefore infertile. You will still have your second option geno's, but please keep in mind if you choose 100% covered, the foal can never be bred.
(Considering this idea-don't know how it would look if white markings on horses just disappear once it reaches the Cloud Veil colors)
(Skyfall, Sky Veil, Cloud Veil, Skyfire--?????) colors are on top of the horses base coat color but white pigmented hairs are on top. So anything like sabino, tobiano, appaloosa, roaning, and splash markings all would show up on top of the Cloud colors.

I love that there is an explanation behind every anomaly how they have got their looks - they're not just pretty and sparkly horses but actually something you have put lots of thoughts into! I hope you'll keep this breed like it and stick with the background story.

Oh yes, DEFINITELY YES!
My Cavittos will actually be used in a story where I have sky horses that take on the color of the sky at the time they were born, so having one of these would be sooo neat <333
I was thinking of how we could use clouds for an anomaly, but couldn't come up with anything. This, this is just fantastic

Stop making sexy horse designs lol
Just a thought: if white patterns cover the pretty colors, possibly make it an option to make those white clouds where they hit the sky colors. I think that would be pretty neat looking.
I'll stop coming with unsolicited ideas any time now.

I honestly don't know how I feel about this one lol. The idea is neat though. I think those specific colours are throwing me off though

Sorry you don't like it, I have other versions I played with if none of the other staff likes it. It looks best on black but I can't do that since the Aurora Anomaly changes the base to black and this gene doesn't.

The idea behind it is spectacular, please don't get me wrong lol. I'd love to see this done, though I couldn't pull it off myself. Is it able to come in different colour variations, the skyfall? If it does, then it'll look superb. I think for me, the pink and blue throw of it a bit

Yeah, the description says it takes on whatever color the sky was when they fell through it. So pretty much anything that is a sunset, sunrise, regular day colors or evening colors. It can show clouds in it or just be colors.

Mk. I think that way, it'd be more spectacular and interesting, to me at least. You do a lovely job designing them though!
