Cris Atkinson, giving his best in the dirt of Acropolis Rally, under the bright summer sun..Shot taken with an old Pentacon 200mm prime lens (with an M42 mount converter), so the F number is wrongly recored on the meta data of the file. I used F/5.6 or F/8 (can't remember now)

Oh yeah! This was my 3rd time in Greece and the second time for the Acropolis-Rallye. The Rallye was quite spectacular and all the Greek people were so kindly.
Okay, some of them have to learn bringing more spirit in to the crowd :-D On Thursdays SSS, some people were annoyed about our horns, so we decided to stop to salute the drivers.
And I think I'll come back to the 2008 Acropolis-Rallye. I like Greece more and more

Agii theodri 1 (I think), Agia Triada 2 and the Super Special Stage at Markopoulo's Hippodrome 3...

The longest stage I ever navigated was about 32 km and that was awesome as it gave you a chance to develop a flow and maintain the consistency.

I guess taking part in rallies and stuff is awesome by default. Going through long stages must be more than awesome!
Some years ago (if not decades) the Acropolis Rally was covering almost the whole Greece, with huge stages, that made the drivers drive all day and night for 3 days strait, almost with no sleep. That must have been a thrill!
And what kind of races did you navigate?

Back in those days when men were real men!!!!
Just some club level navigation trials and speed events.
But I mostly service crewed and did official duties like road closures, seep car, zero car, time control points.
