Description A guard of the White Tree, in the Minas Tirith citadel (from Lord of the Rings, yo). I copied it from a picture in a book, and coloured it using Photoshop. And then proceeded to lose the original, but hey. The colouring isn't really spot-on, but bearing in mind that I don't own a tablet so was stuck using the mouse, it's not too bad!

Pencil on white cartridge paper, coloured in Photoshop, 2005.

oooh god!! i love these guards and their robes! i think that they (in some sort of way) represent all the glory of gondor...

I like the guards as well, which is why I drew this one. Usually I tend to draw particular characters/people, but yeah. I'm glad you like it! Thanks so much for your comment!

It takes a while to get the hang of it, actually... I'd never have tried it if a friend of mine (known as Flaterectomy around these parts!) hadn't suggested it. Thanks, though, glad you like it!

This would be a great piece anyway, but the fact you coloured using a mouse is amazing.
I too am a non tablet owning person, but I can't even imagine using a mouse to achieve this kind of work.

Wonderful! The robes and metal are especially well-done, the way the light shines, reflects and highlights the drapery... I like that the colors are subtle--it keeps the focus on the drawing itself, as it should be. Very nice piece!
