holy crapI redid this commission WAYY too many times
I was just never happy with the outcome
final attempt that I started today and I am super happy with it ;o;

Absolutely stunning work - the anatomy looks fantastic, but I adore this design because it's so understated, subtle and simple-looking yet still looks like a unique character, and the colours and all of the elements blend wonderfully together - it's detailed without being cluttered, and HOT DANG, I love the dragon's face so much!

yeah! I find that some people don't take time to comment on things properly, maybe just leave a few words or just fave and not comment at all
and it's not like I don't like just getting faves, I'm happy with bothΒ but I really appreciate the longer comments :')

Yeah, that's something I see a lot of, it would be nice if people took the time more often to give additional feedback, it makes posting things much more worthwhile when people take the time to give more feedback on them. ^^
I agree that faves are still good, but comments are definitely better!

yeah, it's great getting feedback, it does help the artist feel better about their work c:
specially on dA that you can speak to artists who you really admire and tell them what you like about their work!
cause that's not possible with artists like what you find in galleries, you can't just drop them a comment, if you get what I mean?
I must say one thing that irks me is when people don't comment on art you've done for them, be it a gift or commission or whatever
you should always find time to comment, even if it's late! better late than never! c;

Indeed, and I agree, that's what's different about dA compared to traditional galleries - the artists are able to be contacted, and members can have discussions on art, but also on other things and can form friendships as well as learning more about art. ^^
Ha, I can totally understand that - if someone puts in a lot of effort into making something for someone else, it's downright ungrateful for the recipient not to make any acknowledgement of that. It would be like buying someone a present and they just unwrap it, set it down and don't so much as look at you or thank you for it. That sort of behaviour isn't really accepted in real life so I don't get why some people would think it's ok in an internet context.

Indeed, it's a shame I think to waste that opportunity when you have it. Plus you can make friends here too just starting off with a comment, that's pretty much how I met everyone here that I know, and my friends here mean a lot to me.
True, though I don't make gifts often, and when I do they're for people I'm close with, so they do respond, but it's sad to see it when other people don't acknowledge what someone has done for them. I suppose at least the only thing about that is that it's quite rare and most people are grateful and nice. :'D Plus, the ones who aren't won't get gifts again!

Yes, that is another very good point, to at least acknowledge that they received the gift in the first place. And yep, if they have that sort of attitude, I know that I wouldn't want to make something for them again if they were so ungrateful. :'D
