Description
This will be my entry for the 'Drawn to a moment' contest: linkUpdate: I got the first place! Thank you very much!
I used this picture as reference: link
Yay, it's finished! I had to draw quickly, because there are some changes in my life to come and I won't have much time in the next few weeks. But I'm very happy with the result
This is a scene from the movie 'Terminator Salvation'. Be aware that there are some spoiler in my (unfortunately very long) description:
In this scene John Connor (leader of the resistance) and Marcus Wright (cyborg) meet for the first time and it doesn't go very well.
I've watched the movie with two guys and both of them had trouble to tell them apart. That's why I started thinking about the resemblance.
I've heard Christian Bale was supposed to play Marcus, but was more interested in the part of Connor, so he got that role while Sam Worthington was offered the role of Marcus. That may be the reason why both of them look so similar. But for me (as a big Terminator fan) it was something more. In the beginning of Terminator 2 you can see adult John Connor planning the war, moving like a machine. I'm pretty sure that I've read or heard somewhere that this acting was on purpose, because it showed he had to be as strong and uncompromising as the machines to become such a successful leader.
So for me the resemblance is kind of a foreshadowing, even if it was unintentional. That's even more interesting in the context of the Terminator Salvation, because in this movie John tries to convince people not to attack Skynet and killing people while doing so, saying that would mean they would become as bad as the machines. But with the knowledge we have about the future in Terminator 2 someone might think that one day he will see something so horrible he loses his human touch.
The title is a quote from the movie Julius Caesar (2002) which has nothing to do with Terminator, I just think it's a good title for this picture
