Description
Dedicated to *justeline . Because without her great photography which inspired me, I wouldn't have made this photograph. It's been a while since I had the time and the conditions
were right to do some landscape photography. This day the weather wasn't perfect either, but it was OK. Because I didn't have to go to work today, and I haven't made real photographs (except for family shots, PARTY shots hehehehe, and shots of plays) in weeks, I decided to go on my bike and find a nice location.
Location
This location is between Zoutelande and Westkapelle. I had to cycle 75 mins to get there, and it wasn't really worth it. The location wasn't as great as it was in my memories. I haven't been there for two years I guess.
So I can't tell you any juicy facts about the location except that when I went a few meters to the left I got a text-message: "Welcome in Belgium - T-mobile". It could be that I got this message because this is the most western part of the Netherlands. Not that that is so exciting, except if you are keen on receiving text messages.
Photo
The light wasn't that wonderful, for the whole day, but just before 18.00 the light started to get nice. The tide was low, so the beach was rather empty and it was hard to find some good foreground. This little reservoir of water got my eye, and I really like the sand lines. I also have shot with more attention to the sand lines but the impact of the light is less because the reflective water is further ahead in the frame.
My polarizer was a very welcome tool this day. Without my pola the shot wouldn't be this warm, this gold.

i can see that conditions weren't as.. dramatic as we landscape photographers like, and yet i really love this shot, the composition is truly superb, one of the better ones i have ever seen.

brilliant shot, lovely composition
just wondering how much your polariser cost. because cheap ones are incredibly hard to find that fit the filter thread

Mine was even cheaper than my UV. haha. I own a Soligor. Bought in Germany. That stuff is cheap there!

To be honoust I've never used another polarizer so I can't compare. It works fine for me, but sometimes for one or another reason when not turned properly the highlights are sometimes a little blown out. It doesn't occur often though. Without polarizer it doesn't happen. If I have the money once, I'll buy a B+W. (€100,-)

Very nice composition and i like the concentration of the foreground. The small water path that gradually leads into the mass of water. Great shot

Thank you very much. I also like the smaller path that leads to the sea though I'd liked it to be a bit bigger so it could be used more as a leading curve. Thanks!!

Whoa Martijn, amazing composition bro! You made excellent use of the sand lines, they lead you right to the heart of the photo. Great reflection, nice, warm tones too!

Thank you very much sis ,
Actually, when I saw this photo on the LCD of my camera I had to think of your photograph 'under the red'. Though it are two totally different photographs the subject is a sort of the same: Both include a small body of water as the subject in stead of the sea.
And thanks a lot for the of course

you paid me one of the greatest compliments i've ever read with that comment Martijn!
To know that when you saw such a beautiful picture you thought one of mine means that you really liked it and made an impression on you!
I have a photo of sand lines I'm going to upload at some point and it will be dedicated to you!

Wow, that would really be a GREAT honour. No one has ever dedicated a photograph to me.
Your picture 'under the red' was one of the pictures that made me realise that if I was going to shoot at the sea, the sea didn't need to be exactly the main subject itself.
Actually, I shoud dedicate this one to you, because if you wouldn't have made 'under the red', I wouldn't have made this picture I think.
