Description
My first large metal casting. Cast in iron from an original clay sculpt. Features real antlers from a white-tailed deer. Not wearable due to the interior being slightly smaller than I anticipated.

Ooh, I LIKE this! Fantastic work. Shame it isn't wearable though, will you make another?

I'm working on a similar one. When this was made I rushed the carving to get it to the foundry in time so I'd like to take the time to make a more detailed piece.

Good to know, if you upload pics here I would love to see them. My son in law's a blacksmith, he'll find this fascinating. The last thing he made for me was a pair of viking shears (for reenactment). Good luck with the next one.

I certainly will. I actually got my degree from one of the few universities in the country that offers blacksmithing.

Amazing! I love things to do with antlers, they're so majestic, yet they can be so intimidating. Great work~

Thank you. These are massive, too. I'm tempted to mold them for use in other work because they are the largest pair I've come across.

Thank you very much. I have all the progress pics and could make a step-by-step walkthrough if you're interested.
