This is my Dragons Age Origins character. I wanted to draw her because her armor was so interesting and I'd never done armor before. it's a lot harder than it looks! a toast to all you deviants who do armor well.comments welcome

thank you very much, but for the record the armor design itself belongs to Bioware, the company that made the game. I thought it was a really nice visual so gave it a shot. my second attempt was after I saw the concept art and the intent of the designers.

In game she has a ponytail but I gave her a braid because most noblewomen during the middle ages had long braided hair as a symbol of rank. I hope Bioware does some research to give us more hairstyles.

Agreed. I ended up going with mods for my hair and most of my armors in the game just because they were more practical. It really is a lovely piece. I wish I could colour like that!

I made a walkthrough, though the text is a little vague, other than the base sketch, most everything was done with photoshop elements 5 defult brushes. her hair was done with Aomori's hair brush. [link]

thanks, her hair ended up as my main focus, hence how I butchered her armor

(groans) good grief how I murdered this set of armor....
I recently found the concept art for this set and saw the difference between the original artist's plans and what it looked like in the game. they butchered it worse than I did! Anyway... I am working on a better piece showing the armor as it was meant to be.
