He pushed the doors open to find her shirt laying over one of the rails.His first instinct was to grab it up and hunt her down, with the intent of teasingly accusing her of using the console room as a clothesline.
Before his hand reached the fabric, the fact finally sunk in.
She's gone.
It was as if one of his hearts had suddenly stopped working; his chest felt tight with the realization that the beautiful, sunny creature he'd shared his life with - twice over no less - was no longer a part of his universe.
Gulping a breath, he picked up the shirt and instantly his senses were flooded with the same sensations he'd always experienced every time he touched her.

Blindly, he slid down against the wall, holding the shirt in both hands to his face, as if he could hold on to her essence by merely breathing in her lingering scent.
As the tears mercilessly dropped from his eyes, he whispered words into the stillness that no one but his ship would ever understand.

A/N: Unbeta'd ficlet written to accompany the art here. I've been having a rough time (not merely due to online issues), and both the art and fic that it inspired were the result of some very dark moments. This could theoretically take place before the final scenes in Doomsday, but I prefer to imagine this occurring immediately following his departure in The Runaway Bride.
And even though I don't deserve it, thank you all so much for your kind words and support. It's because of you that I don't give up.

Something I've been thinking about, is that if the doctor has a machine that he can use to make himself human, why not make Rose timelord? They could be together, and when Journeys end comes along he can make the other doctor become John Smith for the poor matron. Rose+timelord+doctor=LOVE and HUMAN DOCTOR+John Smith+Matron=LOVE And LOVE+LOVE=JOY!!

Because she could die too like what happened to donna noble. The human body cannot take the essence of a timelord and cannot cope up with the timelord that it will spontaneously combust. The doctor had to erase donna's memory of being a timelord just to save her. Timelords are so advanced that they could turn themselves human but humans are still developing thus cannot advance to timelord level in a snap. That's why converting Rose into a timelord is not an option.

BUT, you've overlooked something. If Rose's body was Timelord, and she only received her original human mind, she would be fine. Rather than a Timelord mind in a human body, it's the other way around. It would work!

It looks like a good idea but the Doctor only became human by saving his memories as a timelord in their watches (as seen in the ep. human nature). So technically, he is still a timelord minus the essence of a timelord. Transforming Rose into a timelord is just putting the essence of a timelord in her tiny human body. You cannot transform a body of a human being into a timelord entirely. Don't get me wrong, I always wanted a happy ending for ten and rose and am trying to find a way too but transforming rose into a timelord is really not possible. If there is a possible way, I'll make a fanfic about it.π

If not that then why not Bad Wolf? Bad Wolf was literally Time and Space as an entity! And, "I quote,Β I want you safe. My Doctor." Now, something you need to remember about this: this is not Rose talking. It's the Bad Wolf, so, in essence, the Bad Wolf should support giving them a happy ending together so they can have their "forever" together. Why not? It's plausible. It couldΒ in theory work. All the needed variables are there, and all the factors are there too. They just needed to be utilized. Β

Oooooh! That makes sense! Too bad Rose, now, will just forever be the best he never had. I just realized, if Rose will forever be with the Doctor, the REAL Doctor, then who will take care of 10.5?

River. It could be that 10.5 doesn't REALLY have feelings for Rose (I read this once in a fanfic: 10.5 didn't really love Rose, and, because of this, Rose went back to her original universe to find HER Doctor), and he stays with River because he ages and she ages and The Doctor (eventually) loves her back the way that River loves 11. So: Rose+10=their own happy ending, and River+10.5=eventual happy ending. Rose's happy ending would be instantaneous, and, unfortunately, 10.5's would be a tad bit slower. Though it would still happen EVENTUALLY!Β
Not perfect, I'll admit, but I think it would work.Β

I kinda agree with you on the idea about 10.5 not really loving rose as much as the doctor did. You can see it from the way Rose greeted ten during the journey's end. Its like she really missed the old ten and her need wasnt satisfied by 10.5, which is sad. I do wonder how River will end up with 10.5 if she's in a parallel world and her timeline runs in complete opposite compared to the doctor's timeline. This plus the fact that she died in the library, way before her timeline collides with Rose. But dayum, i can imagine the explosion of sassiness when River and 10.5 meet. Lol!

I guess River and 10.5 could meet at Journey's End. River could be one of the companions that come to the doctor's aid in his time of need. (The Doctor's Army, if you'll forgive my reference) Then, as if it had been planned that way all along, River would come to Bad Wolf Bay when Rose had to say goodbye to the doctor. Then BOOM!

Ta da! Done. River and 10.5 get together to create those memories that she had always talked about having. And Rose, well, Rose get's the doctor. Bad Wolf. You get the gist of it.Β

Wow! I think were on the same page now. When the doctor calls for his "army" he calls them from different timelines. When some of them are dead, he can call them from the time they were still alive. So it is possible for him to call upon River during the time when she's still walking about. But during the journey's end, ten only has an overview on who might River be. He doesnt know if she's someone to trust or not. So during the journey's end, he cannot call River simply because he doesnt know her that well. The people the doctor calls are the people he trusts the most. People who he bets his life on. And River is still not one of them, if we follow the timeline of the doctor.

Hmmm, good point. Can he trust her? Well, we know that he has to trust her to some level, not only because she died to save his life when he didn't even know her, but she also knew his name. And, I quote, "River, you know my name. You whispered my name in my ear. There's only one reason I would ever tell anyone my name. There's only one time I could."
Now, take this quote and think about what it means. It could mean one of two things in these circumstances: he married Rose, and she told her his name to keep the timelines intact, or it means that he could only tell someone his name if he was dying. Either way, he would be continuing the timeline, and that would take some level of trust to go through with. He may not trust her completely (I don't really think he ever does; not really), but she would have the ability to help, and, during that moment, would need all the help he could get.Β

But of all the people he could potentially get help from (aka. Previous companions), why call someone who you dont know if you will trust or not? For the doctor to tell his real name is a big deal. A VERY BIG DEAL. Its either he trusted river so much, much more than any of the other companions (except for susan foreman, cuz, well, yknow, she's his granddaughter and yeah) or river is such a threat to his existence for him to just reveal it to her. Ofcourse we know what eleven and river had and they really took off, but ten doesnt know that. Since you know, we're following his timeline. So it is really impossible for him to call upon river in his time of need (during that time, ofcourse).
Now that I've thought of it, we didnt really know if the doctor told rose his real name. I dont know why but i feel uncomfortable thinking about it. And im wondering how the doctor could just move one like that from rose, whom he had a very conservative relationship; to river, with a very, VERY showy relationship. Ahhhh!! This is hurting my brain!!

It's hurting mine too, but we must continue if we want to solve this problem. WE SHALL HAVE VICTORY! So, I've been thinking. What if River knew Rose, and came on her own terms rather than the Doctor calling her to fight in his "army". The Doctor would have no choice but to trust River because, by the time when he really needs all the help he can get, he cannot refuse her help. Rose's Bad Wolf powers would resurface later on (maybe they give her a longer lifespan; who knows? There's no sure way to tell), and River goes on to live with 10.5.Β
Though, at this point, I think that there are too many variables to be sure. We may never know.

Maybe she could, like the doctor told river about the bad wolf and rose tyler and then river thought meeting this "rose" is something that can be useful someday. To think that river could go back and forth in time because she acquired a vortex manipulator from the fat blue merchant guy (sorry forgot his name. Lol.) So come to think of it, everyone could live happily. Rose gets the doctor, River gets 10.5 . But the problem is, Rose cannot stay in the alternate universe, coz, yknow, the same reason the daleks were sucked in the void during doomsday. That's why the doctor HAVE to leave rose tyler. But since, he, too, traveled back and forth in the 2 universes, he could stay there in the alternate universe with rose and leave 10.5 in the original universe with river since 10.5 doesnt originally have the void stuff (yknow, the thingys that you can see with 3D glasses.) So yeah. The only problem now is that how will the doctor meet river. Hmmmm...

We may as well be trying to solve theΒ Skasis Paradigm for all the trouble we've put into this. And, unfortunately, we most likely will never know how they could have gotten their happy ending. Though, in the words of Snow White, they will always find one another.Β
And I don't really think that Rose HAS to stay on Doomsday; most likely, she would end up coming back for Journey's End.Β

Well, this is the internet. We may as well do whatever we please, in this case, to find a happy ending for our OTPs. right? But i still feel sad how the eleventh doctor just forgot about rose how he forgot sarah jane. I guess he really just have to get up and move on. Im hoping that maybe the eleventh (or twelve) will see rose again just like ten met sarah jane again. But i dont think ill be able to give any possible solutions for that since im very outdated with all the recent episodes. Hehe.
