Description
There is this unknown planet on the outer fringes of our galaxy, far more peripheral than sun in relation to the center of the galaxy. No space explorer had assumed there would be a planet in such a thin region of space. An explorer's ship's navigational system failed and he was aimlessly wandering around the galaxy. Then , suddenly the light sensors in his ship noticed strange pulsatile light emitting structures on a planet. With difficulty, the explorer moved towards the source, where he noticed a planet , bustling with life, he had just discovered a civilised alien race. The aliens were hospitable and could commmunicate with the explorer by gestures and telepathy. They explained to him that light houses were built on that planet here and there not to guide ships in the ocean, but to guide flying machines.
The aliens had not yet discovered RADAR and other navigational tools, so , inspite of having advances space ships, the aliens were using lighthouses for guidance.
The explorer remained on the planet and then, showed a star map and location of earth and also exchanged some technology. The aliens got technology from the explorer, in return , the aliens came to earth and gave a genius solution to all strife on earth.
They will scare us to stay silent or else they will nuke us
that scare will make us stop fighting amongst ourselves
Okay,
this is a 1920x1200 , for all those people who asked when I had made the 1440x900 'secret green cove'
Also a polychromatic version has its own pros and cons compared to a 'green version'
Enjoy if u like

I love this amazing piece. It has a very painterly look to it but with some sharpness and clarity when needed. It looks to me like what Chesley Bonestell would be painting if he were still alive. Wow, wow... what a wonderful painting!

by the way today I must remember a schizophrenic patient (who was a doctor himself)
When asked "whats your age"
He used to say
" I am a product of conception,
of a 1943 fornication
I was a king in the 60s
pauper in the 90s"

it's better than the other one but... honestly... mh... these rockets... they look shit. they look like p******. dont get me wrong but... well that's what i see and think. also the weird glow/haze/fog/cloud (whatever it is) around that biiiiig moon/sun thing... it makes visually no sense. but hell these rockets... like alyn... what do you guys have with your rockets?! when you're doing a pic with a futuristic concept then hell, there shouldnt be rockets. go for some fighters... battlecruisers. but please no oooldish rockets.
that's what i think... and i dont think you like it.
hope it'll make you overthink some of your concepts in that image.

hey , dont use words like 'shit'
I never expected those words to come from a guy with a reputation like yours
If I ever felt like I want to add battle cruisers or something, I would have done it,
and if u dont like rockets, them make fighters and cruisers for YOUR art,
I dont like ur style of critique

tigaer In reply to Swaroop [2005-10-16 16:11:19 +0000 UTC]
my critique has nothing to do with 'style'... i'm only honest. you can do better... your works recently look like you're always going the easiest way. i see absolutely no progress in your style... or skills. yet, so many people look up to you as you can see with your frequent frontpage hits. come on man... you have some skills... now make use of them. take the next step.

this is a really nicely well done piece, would you be willing to do it in a widescreen version? it looks very cool. 3200x1200 ? that would mean so much to me if you could have the time to do that. nice work

mind blowing detail. The part where the rockets are off from two sides and seagales flacked by a sunrise.
hot stuff.

That is awesome - it's a wonderful piece of art in its own right, but with the description and story as well, it's simply beautiful.

That looks awesome, and the short story, as always, is awesome and fits well. Still, I almost feel as though the rockets/missiles on the sides take a bit off from the picture. They almost feel... distracting? Mind you, this is just my humble opinion, so like it or lump it. Either way, this is an awesome work, Swaroop!
