Well, here you have it! Link worshipping God! Yay!!
As I said in an earlier journal, I am indeed a Christian. I just thought that since I had said that, I should post something to show it. Plus I looked a long time for a pic of Link worshipping Jesus and could hardly find one, so I thought it would be cool to post one like this!

This was just an idea I came up with a while back. Actually, the Zelda games do have quite a bit of Christian influence in them, if you really think about it. There's a link a friend of mine had shown me once and it explains it there, if you want me to show it to you.

I think there were some Islamic trappings in the series, too, for a while. Particularly in Ocarina of Time. So I'm kinda not sure what to think of the matter, heh...

It's so cool to see that kind of artwork done, especially in a place like Japan.
I thought there was in OoT, too. Was it in the Fire Temple? Becuase I think they played a song in there that sounded kinda Islamic... =/

Haha, it is kinda fun to see their take on it. Personally, I don't take much stock in it, though, because Japan doesn't see Western religion the same way we do.
Yup, it was the Fire temple. :3 And there was definitely Islamic chanting going on (it's on Youtube ; using RL voice clips instead of synthesized MIDI voices really adds to the creepy factor, and I kinda wish I had the opportunity to play the original).
There were also the Crescent-and-Star symbols associated with the Spirit temple, and on the Mirror Shield and pushable blocks and such. Not gonna lie, playing newer versions of OoT without them feels so weird.

Unfortunately, that's how it is over there... I sometimes wish I was a missionary so I could go over there and testify to them... *sigh*
My first Zelda game actually was the original OoT, so the songs from the temples and other favorites of mine still come to my head a lot of times. xD
Oh, that's right! There were those in the original! But then in the Gamecube version, they changed the Mirror Shield image from the crescent and star to the Gerudo symbol. I don't know if they changed the images on the blocks too, but I never really minded the change, if I'm gonna be honest...

It's always interesting to get a first-hand perspective of a religion. I kinda wish folks from other parts of the world would do some missions in the US. We don't really have much in the way of diversity, and it'd be nice if I could learn something about, say, ΓsatrΓΊ that didn't come from some New Age bookstore.
Haha, I always feel so old when people say that. 
But yes, the music in Ocarina is fab! I first played it twelve years ago, and I STILL remember exactly where I was, the first time I went through the Forest temple. It's very nostalgic.
Yup, they changed the blocks, too. Everything is all cleaned up. It feels so weird to me, after seeing it for all these years; I dunno, the crescent-and-star just seemed to... fit the Gerudo so well, to me. But yeah, other people don't seem to mind it either (I think some people don't even know about it) so I can understand you not missing it.

Hmm...It's cute, but I'm not sure how I feel about a video game character in Christian worship. For some reason it seems wrong to me.

This was an idea I had a while back. I thought if people liked video games and they saw their favorite characters worshipping God, it would kind of get them to want to worship God, too.
